Actually I find that if I have the dehumidifier running the room is'nt chilly at all but then the air that comes back out of them is supposed to be warmer than when it went in.
Add to that the benefit of getting rid of excess moisture and you can't lose.
To be honest though its not been that chilly and we've only had the heating on for an hour about four times this whole winter so far.
We've even been sitting without a throw on the sofa the past few days we just have'nt needed one.
Its brilliant for the end of November, lets hope it stays this way.0 -
We've had our new woodburner lit every evening since Friday when the room was finally finished. Partly novelty value and partly to warm us up.
Have had CH on for around an hour the past couple of evenings with three rads open just to take the freezing cold feel off the hall, computer room (aka box room) and bathroom.0 -
It's quite warm in my lounge tonight with the heating off.
My gecko viv is heated by a ceramic heater and the digital thermometer is showing 28c; an identical thermometer at the opposite side of the room just sitting on top of a unit, is showing the room temperature as 20c0 -
Been on 5 times for no more than 2 hours at a time this Autumn but off since Monday as it's been very mild. The fleece over my legs is so warm and cosy, almost too hot if I have the laptop on my lap.
My gas supplier wrote to say my dd is going up, when I queried this he said their figures are based from Aug 10 to Aug 11. When I pointed out it was -10 this time last year and is around +3/4 this week he said he couldn't take that into account as his figures don't cover todays date, but would leave the dd as it is until the next due bill. Oh, and that I'm in credit atm and am entitled to a refund. I can feel the hysteria bubbling up again  :doh:0 -
Can't you just picture those power company executives trying to find yet another excuse to raise prices to cover the loss of profits due to the mild weather
