still off, not on timer yet. but we've had to put it on for showering else the boiler cuts out
we're running the new woodburner each night for a few hours though. raising average temps inside downstairs from 12degrees to 16therefore are now needing hot water bottles in the bed though due to colder upstairs!

I'm, having to put mine on for an hour each day except a very select few. It's unbelievably cold in here, my house is generally cold so not great in winter. Hopefully the insulation people will be out soon to get that sorted so that it stays a bit warmer. I'm still not having it on a lot though, definately much less than last year anyway. I'm pleased with the usage so far.Credit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

Still off, no other heat source either -not even candles, which are lined up as next line of defence;);)
Today it was 13 degrees outside (according to the car) but tonight it's an unbelievable 22 here in the l/room:T0 -
Still off but I did come very close to putting it on when I had my shower, the bathroom felt cold. The weather here was damp and grey,no hope off getting any washing out, still I surpose it's better than ice and snow.0

The washing's a problem isn't it. If we had children at home I'm sure by now I'd have resorted to putting the heating on to get it dry.
As it is, I wait for a dry day, put it outside, bring it in several hours later, semi-dry (no sun in the back garden this time of year) then get creative:)
We have a big airing cupboard, so one airer fits in there; if needs be underwear can go on that straight from the w/machine, and other bits on the airing cupboard shelves and draped over the door. Then the towel rail in the bathroom heats up when the hot water's on (1 1/2 hours, am & pm), so that gets t-shirts/jumpers. The rest goes on the second airer, on the landing with the airing cupboard door open.
We've had plenty of rain-free days, but hardly any with a decent breeze, and a lot have been just damp especially from fog like today. The bedding will have to wait, will see the forecast tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed.0 -
Still no heating here so Mr Electric Company wont be getting fat on me just yet...
Log burner is on nearly all the time now and I have an oil filled radiator for DD2's bedroom, its the only cold room in the house... DD1 has the chimney in her room and our room always seems to be warm but DD2's is at the back of the cottage so is always cold...

Off, but the rain outside makes my house damp inside so will put the dog's heat lamp on this afternoon and take a view then about woodburner or whether I can cope with a hot water bottle.
My bedroom window has swollen and won't close, fine for now, but I don't really like leaving it open when I'm out for a long time.0 -
Off, but me and the boy are cold, the thermostat near me says 15 deg, but the one across the room says 13.5 deg. Brrr and I've been defrosting the fridge with freezer box, so although it's colder in here now, at least it warmed us up a bit.
I think I'll put the woodburner on when the girls get home from work and school, as they'll be cold and used to higher temps than us hardier boysFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
it officially went on today. It was just too chilly in here this morning, we've had a comple of days of cold cold weather and morning fog.

i'm having similar issues with lack of wind, grey is ok if we at least have some wind but putting clothes out makes little difference right now. i finally had to turn the heat on last night to try and dry two loads as i was desperate and i still have another 2 loads that need doing!
i don't actually want the heat on right now, the neighbour below me must be jacking hers up high because i keep having to take my slipper boots off around the same time every night and my room thermometer goes up 2-4 degrees each night around the same time. right now it says it's 21C in here and i'm too warm!
other then testing each heater and this once for drying clothes the heat hasn't been on this year and i've only been tempted on one day to have it on but resisted :T0
