Is your heating ON or OFF?

On . . . but only because the landlord controls when it goes on / off, and all bills are included in the rent.
Frankly though, if I had control / was paying for it, it would be off - I shouldn't be able to walk around in mid-Nov in a t-shirt and bare feet! But perhaps that's because I grew up in a household when the heating only went on if you were wearing three jumpers and were still shivering!0 -
The radiators in my flat are still not on.
The Lakeland Dry Soon 3 Tier Airer is now more or less pernamently on and I look for excuses to put washing on it having been deprived under previous regime when I couldn't wash quilts etc, now I seem to be washing them all??!!

I'm amazed at how much warmth a few candles can give you.0

I totally agree there great. My daughter has started using them now,she laughed at me at first till she came to visit and realised we only had candles burning for heat.0 -
woodburner on this morning and a heatlamp up for the dogs, but we had every window open and a real freshening airing of the house today, its just it got cold very quickly.
we also removed a seriously yucky carpet from the room the dogs sleep in, and I'm aware that room risks feeling colder now, but oh my, I'd not have wasted time cleaning it after moving in if I had realised how yucky it was underneath.0 -
I`ve just lit the tealights, feels warmer already
Has anyone noticed the difference in the tealights from last year and this years stock?
Last years were slightly raised in the centre and sloped off towards the edge, this years are dipped in the middle meaning that there is a ring of wax left around the outside of the foil container when they go out, last years stock also burn for much longer.
Its 18 degrees inside and 7 outside atm, feels slightly colder than the gizmos reading so it will probably dip quite a bit later.
I haven`t noticed the boiler switching on and i don`t intend to knock the stat up a notch tonight
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0
