Is your heating ON or OFF?

Mines still on, although have turned it down to 10 overnight and during the day. Just turned up to 20, but only in the evenings. I can not bear the cold. Always like to be snuggly indoors.0

Definitely cold here today, horrible weather as well. Not cracking though! Got the curtains drawn and draught excluders out to try and keep the heat in this room, it'll warm up when I have the oven on for dinner anyway.February Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500

I decided not to by a thermometer and we have a very old heating system.
In my own brand of logic I decided that, should I be able to see the temperature it would act as some sort of shoulder demon trying to make me switch it on!! :rotfl::rotfl:
My guide is 10 degrees. I refuse to put the heating on until the thermometer drops below this, and so far, no heating!!
I've also invested £1.99 in a hot water bottle, to help stave off putting on the heating.
Also, even with no heating, i've noticed that it can take the house days to catch up on the outside temperature. Sometimes it's really cold inside but when you go outside it is positively balmy, and, like today, it feels reasonably warm inside, but really cold outside!!!0 -

ten degrees in autumn normally feels a lot colder than 10 degrees in spring though. I use temps as a guid to thinks like horse rugs, and while my old horses have had their lightweights on for a while now, they would be very disgruntled if they were still on at this temperature in the srping.
My wood burner is on, the air down stairs is rather damp. I'm also planning on either opening the doors bewtween sitting room and the room where the dogs sleep or popping an electric heater in there for a little while, as there is condensation in there. They are too hot if I put a heat lamp on, but I don't want them or the house getting damp.0 -
Ours was on for two days last week ,just 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening but we turned it back off again as it was so hot waking up to the warm air in the morning.
We had an amendment to our fuel prices again and they have added £10 a month to the new payments so we shall last out as long as we possibly can without turning it back on.0 -
Still off here. I noticed the back bedrooms are starting to get a little chilly as the sun doesn't get there from around September onwards but the kids don't seem to be bothered atm. If they moan then I will break out the hot water bottlesBSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Took a meter reading yesterday as I do each year before the heating goes on. I have put it on for half an hour and I'm too hot.
So it's now off and it's staying off for a while longer. :j
The house isn't really cold I just wanted to take that cold edge off.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Off here but not by choice.
New woodburner is in but we can't light it as the chimney breast was plastered yesterday.
CH is off as we've found the leak under the floorboards (not sure if I've mentioned that before) and I don't want any more water pumping out. Plumber is coming tomorrow.
If we hadn't decided to install a woodburner and then sand the floors in the room we'd never have found the leak. Thank goodness we decided to replace some manky looking floorboards as it was under one of those! No leaks had been found in obvious places so we were going to have to spend £££ to have the CH pipes diverted and dropped from downstairs.0
