Is your heating ON or OFF?

Off, but it's getting colder and my resolve is starting to crumble
I'm also supposed to be having a romantic night tonight, quite how we're supposed to do that in big woolly jumpers, I'm not sure.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
We managed to go well past our target of 1st November as it has been very mild. However it is difficult to dry clothes in a cool house when it rains outside and we had a large batch of laundry (including garments that had been re-wetted by the rain while outside!). So we compromised and had a couple of hours CH on a few days ago. The clothes were hung on doors and banisters and dried beautifully.
Since then we put it on again on a couple more occasions for 1 hour or so. But in the evening we burn logs in the stove, drink a lot of tea and wear jumpers, so we seem to be doing fine with no regular CH on at the moment. Let's hope we can last a bit longer this way!
Every day with our CH off is a finger up to the energy companies who increased the prices by 20% - we are determined to pay the same (or even less) than we did last year! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Still mild here so no heating needed.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Good excuse for a cuddle up I would have thought:)Slimming World at target0 -
Now that I have retired and my other half still goes out to work, I can't justify putting the heating on during the day. The wooly hat and big pully are getting used more, as monday morning was frosty and the house didnt reach 15 degrees. We only have the heating on for an hour or so in the evening - just to take the chill off as my old mother would say. We are now stuck with gas central heating, were my last 2 houses had solid fuel heating and for years I never had to pay for the wood I burned, either by felling trees myself (had own woodland) or just picking up fallen branches/trees and throwing them in the trailer - happy days !
One thing I can't stand is the heating on during the night whilst in bed or when I get up in the mornings. Total waste of money !0 -
Still off here ,been a sunny day with a few showers here in Wiltshire. The living room is a bit chilly now,I'm wrapped up in a throw and hot water bottle so not to bad.Hoping to keep off as long as possible if the weather turns really cold I will use candles in LR as long as they keep the temp at 19 to 20 the CH will stay off,any lower and it will go on for a blast of heat.My DErect debit has been put up and I'm being made redundant in dec so i'm really really worried how we are going to manage0

Just put it on for an hour this morning as its really nippy but as my house is very small it will keep warm all day now as I have excellant insulation in both the walls and the roof.I never have it on timed anymore I only put it on as and when needed and that in itself has cut back my bills considerably. At night when watching t.v. I rarely put it on as I have a huge heavy knitted blanket that goes over my knees and I don't like the bedroom too warm when I go to bed eiter as I find it makes it too stuffy I would rather snuggle under the duvet than have heating in there0

Its so mild here, its quite ridiculous for November.
I'm sitting by an open window and I've had to take my dressing gown off because its so warm.
Last night was the same,I was actually too hot just sitting around and had to peel off my top layer.
When you think of what November is usually like and how we were all freezing this time last year I'm certainly not complaining.
Lets hope it continues, however I do wonder if its the calm before the storm .
Lets hope not eh .0
