I know im going tos ound stupid but how do you use a dehumidifier .. i was given one last winter and now its too warm to put the heating on but i have a lot of wet bedline (ds wets the bed). Do i need to put the washing and the dehumidifier in a room with a closed door or can i hang it all on the landing and pu the humidifier on next to it. Also how close does it need to go ? and for how long ?

    sorry to sound dense.

It will depend on the thickness of the clothes as to how long they take to dry, probably in the room with the airer and the door closed will be quickest. Just run it for a few hours and then check the washing, i`m sure that you will love it :D

  • Still off here, not sure if this house has had cavity wall insulation or not, but the temp' hasn't dropped below 18 yet :) hoping to keep it off for another couple of weeks if I can, although I suspect may need to turn it on to help dry some washing, cos it's raining cats and dogs here
Just bumbling along, trying to save some money
Couldn't do it without coming here every day ;)

Still off for me too. I can't believe how mild it still is. I went for a walk today around the neighbourhood and my local park (lovely autumn colours) and felt quite hot by the time I got home. Thank goodness for this, because if we really have the arctic spell we've been warned about, what I've been saving now will go to keep me warm then. :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

It's lovely and mild here today. Wasn't there a forecast that it was going to start snowing in October? I only hope it's this mild tomorrow night as we are going to watch fireworks. The past few years it's been freezing, blowing a gale and downright awful. If it's like this tomorrow I could probably get away without a coat!
  • I put it on for around 1/2 an hour earlier ..... not because it was cold (far from it) but it's been damp/foggy/murky all day and the house has felt horrible.

Maybe I need a humidifier too?
