Heating is still off here, we have been lucky here in the North West it has been really quite mild, managed to get all washing done and dried the past few days, it's been warmer recently than it was in August0

Still no heating on.
Have actually started to feel cold sitting here at the computer, so checked the thermometer - is 17 degrees. So, off to bed now with my warm jimjams, my hottie and my cat!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
Still off here, was a bit chilly earlier but hot supper soon heated me up. Have put the heavier duvet on and use the electric blanket to take the chill off.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

also, that they'd be a bad idea with cats and their clawsotherwise the idea of a heated bed is delicious.
My sister has had one for 14 years. I house sat for her one year and slept on the bed. It was the most uncomfortable night's sleep i've never had (because I hardly got any sleep!) I could hardly get out of bed in the morning as I was so stiff. They must like it though because when their bag burst a couple of years ago they got a new one.0 -

Everyone who's tried mine (including me) has been through the same experience - for the first three nights you just can't get the hang of it - it doesn't do what you expect, it's difficult to sleep on and suddenly doesn't seem nearly as comfortable as when you first sat down.
After three nights, you suddenly get it - you change your natural sleeping position and - oh wow! - you don't even have to roll over all night, it's like sleeping in a cloudMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Ours is off again now after having it on for a couple of mornings last week. I found it too hot with the heating on! Although I have obviously had it on am hoping to not need it properly again now until at least 1st November which is only a week away so unless the temp drops drastically I think we should be fine.
I am finding it harder to get up in the mornings at the moment as its dark and nice and snuggly in bed lol.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

Been home to mum's for a few days and was absoltely cooked! The dog was constantly panting and I found it hard to sleep because of the heat - and I thought my house was quite warm!
After coming home though my house feels cold as it hasn't had any heating or fire on for about 5 days so I've put it on for an hour to take away the chill and hopefully that will be enough for today.
I'm very interested to see the bill this time - I have combined gas and elec bills and for the first time I've been careful about elec use (turning things off and generally being more aware of use) and used little gas compared to normal - wonder if it will show in the bill?0 -

That would explain it. I kept trying to roll over, then I seemed to bob for ages once i'd turned. I couldn't get used to the sensation! My brother-in-law has had 2 hip replacements and he loves it. I've got my original hips, i'm 12 years younger, and I could hardly climb out of it. :rotfl:
That doesn't sound right. My brother-in-law was on holiday with my sister when I tried it. :rotfl:
