hmmmm...I'm wavering....having a weak moment. If I had a quick switch on for an hour of house heat I think |I might go for it. Temps were fine this morning, but have dropped quite dramatically this afternoon.

We have been having it on for an hour each evening since Saturday just the take the 'edge' off the tempertures in the house. It has worked and it has kept the heat well into the following morning so I am pleased with that. It has also stopped us from using the multifuel burner as well. I am trying to conserve the coal and wood stocks at the moment.

Our stat is set to around 16 or 17ish - it hasn`t been on enough for me to fine tune the setting on it but i can`t remember the last time that i heard it click the boiler on, definitely a few days ago.

The warmer temperatures are most welcome however i did notice a bit of a nip in the air earlier this morning. Later the heavens opened and we had a huge amount of rain in a short space of time but its dry again now apart from some rather large puddles.

I`ve not seen the forecast for later this week as the local forecast on Metcheck is down once again, this was my favourite weather site but now i`m so fed up with it that i`m on the hunt for a better one.

Hope that the milder weather continues :D

We have had our's on once to work out why it wasn't working when we tried it before holiday last week, (was a simple turn on a pipe that got turned off when the dishwasher went in)

So just the once I'm happy with that as was only to get heating working and check all was ok with it. It's not been too bad, we have blankets for the evenings so they keep us warm and we never get cold in bed so don't need it on overnite

Out direct debt is high enough atm so will try and be good in the day and keep it off and just leave it for evenings when we need it, thou will of course put it on if need be due to LO needing to keep warm

I was freezing when I got back to Wales on Saturday - I switched on the electric fire and wrapped up in a duvet as soon as I got there. But once I'd had a good sleep and gotten over the jet lag I was fine again.

I still haven't even bought a heater here in London! Although I am a cheat 'cos I have a heated waterbed...

  • off , done lots of cooking today, so the flat is warm from that :)

think i may have to put a load of washing in tumble dryer though, needs to be dried, and i already have stuff hanging everywhere like a chinese laundry ....

maybe i should just knock the heating on :D

  • A workmate of mine had a heated water-bed. It was the most comfortable luxurious feeling ever sleeping in that. Not sleeping in it was a pretty thrilling experience, too.

i've always been under the impression that not sleeping on them was quite ...um...awkward?

also, that they'd be a bad idea with cats and their claws :( otherwise the idea of a heated bed is delicious.
