DH wants to light the fire as he's cold. He's sulking as I've told him to go and put another layer on. He's only got thin tracky bottoms and a thin short sleeved t shirt on - rollseyes

Still off but the patio doors are closed and it's a bit cold.

Been a strange old day, from where I sit in the office there's a clear view out of the front window about 50 feet away, and we can see trees. Around half nine you could hear rain thumping down and when i looked towards the window everything was white because the rain was coming down that hard. Then we had sun and now it's lashing it down with bits of thunder and lightening

I've just reluctantly put an electric fire on near me, as I've been coughing for the past two weeks, with sinuses painfully bunged up, so today I'm feeling really under the weather. I'm on very hot water and lemon drinks at the moment, and trying to work up a good sweat to clear my airways. Pah... :(
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Cor! what a huge change in the weather, it's like the end of the world out there tonight. Thunder, hail, gale force winds and very chilly. Yes, my heating is on low. I am a wuss.

Try olbas oil in some hot water with a towel and inhale the steam. You can do the same with Tea Tree Oil or Eucalyptus as well. Needs to be pure essential oil and that should give you some relief from your sinuses, whihc will at times be painful.

I tend to try and use Sudafed to dry it up which works but appreciate it doesn't always work for some and others cannot take due to medical reasons!!

Not on here yet, still using lightweight duvet so long way to go

I've been using my winter weight one for a few weeks now!

I haven't had the heating on yet, but the wind is blowing through the house now and it's so cold, so I tried to put the heating on tonight - and nothing happened! The boiler is due a service this month, so I think I'll contact them and ask them to come out asap.

    .

me too. And before the hot spell I had both summer and winter duvets on my bed!

It is horrid weather tonight. I'm ok right now, but I'm guessing it will be cold tomorrow.

I find this weather the hardest when I have guests. I have a meeting here tomorrow (w/architect, a prospective builder and a boiler salesman!) and don't know whether I should light the wood burner or not...

today my father visited me and kept his coat on the whole time he was here. Its not THAT cold yet.
