  • No heating on here yet either. I was aiming not to have it on til the 1st November but not sure how much longer I will last as its starting to get really chilly on a night. I'm wrapping up in my fleecy blanket at night to keep warm.

I had to put my first jumper of the season on this afternoon and put some socks on, as it was starting to fill a bit chilled. I won't put the heating on unless I have to but I am trying to keep it off as long as possible this year. Thankfully we had new double glazing put in last year so that is keeping the cold out, and so far the temp in the house hasn't dropped lower than 18 in the living room, even though it has been 8 degrees outside - oooh how I love my little weather gadget indoors :)

We intended holding off till November but on Sunday we both felt so cold we switched it on. Just on low -enough so we're reasonably comfortable.

  • I was freeeeeezing cold this afternoon and wanted the heating on. OH said 'no get your dressing gown on, you're just tired' he was right, within ten mins of having the dressing gown on I was fighting to stay awake laying on the settee.

I've woken up a bit and am all warmed up now I've had the cooker on for 1/2 hour cooking:D

Funny how being tired makes you feel cold

We are hoping to hang out till November. I broke out the extras fleeces and hot water bottles last night. It was a tad nippy this morning. We got a free thermostat (one of those that show the temp on a black heat resistant strip) from a RSPB letter this week and it is OH aim to make sure it never lights up!!

DS's are used to it , they are 19 and 21, but the girlfriend thought i was joking when I gave her some thick walking socks and a fleecy. She is only young - she will learn.
