  • I've given in an put my heating on for the first time today. I'm at an absolute loathe to have it on though - I keep fiddling with the thermostat each time I walk past it :p
I may go invest in a hot water bottle and dig my thermals out (usually reserved for hill walking/camping)
  • It's realy cold and wet here (north east, right on the coast) but no way is my heating going on.Got my fleecy dressing gown and throws and it's nice and cosy.
  • i have been really tempted tonight, but havent yet...hubby says i should have it on in the mornings and for a while at night...hmmmm we'll see

We have a fantistic excuse as ours is drained down and cannot be used until Dh does his magic. We are surviving quite well but have all had horrible colds/coughs.

Don't care, putting the heating on will not make it better. Hot water bottles in all of the beds.

We normally put our heating on in late September but are lasting out.
  • I went camping in scotland at the weekend with ony a summer duvet, I have never been so cold.
This morning I found my self waking up shivering. The temperature was 17 degrees (during the summer I would never think this was cold).
I have put the heating on so tomorrow I will wake up toastie.
I will still be saving more money this winter compared to last winter.
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:
  • I have had heating on the past couple of days just for half an hour in the morning to take the chill off the air. I have just put a hot water bottle in my bed, and when I have finished my milky drink, will be off to a nice warm bed. Kids all have fleece throws on their bed now, on top of their duvets and seem happy, though I did have to tell my daughter to put a jumper on, instead of walking around in a t-shirt complaining that she was cold!!
If I had a pound for every...... oh sod it, if I just had a pound I'd be richer!
  • We've not caved in yet :D Got my (new) fleecy dressing gown on & DS'S told to put jumpers on :D
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
  • I had to give in today and put it on for an hour this morning and two hours tonight think I will have to start going to bed early and snuggle under the quilt !
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

My flat is still a heating-free zone for now. :D Been chilly out there but I'm well fleeced up and my hot lemon-water flask sits faithfully by me. :p
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Not yet, though I have been tempted. However, for now, we are donning jumpers abd socks, and snuggling in bed for warmth. Gonna hold out as long as possible.

We had a tree cut back in the summer, so hope to use the fire mostly ~ it gets dead hot, so hopefully the warmth will travel. I don't intend to heat the whole house when we mainly use one room. Hot water bottles will lend a helping hand too.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
