Is your heating ON or OFF?

According to our local weather station it's -10 at the moment. Think the car is going to need some serious scraping at 7am tomorrow.
Heating was switched off about an hour ago. Still feel warmish.

The heating has only been switched on during bath-times but that restriction may be lifted soon. The temperature upstairs is about 10-11 C and the kitchen 6 C! Hot water bottles and electric blankets (etc) abound!0

Well our heating is off. As is the hot water. Boiler on the blink :-( as of yesterday evening, I have Homecare with BG but can't come till tomorrow morning. It's been a cold time for me and the kids today! Not at all jealous of DH in his warm office and having their office Christmas lunch today...hmmm...:heartpulsSpoiling my two baby girls with love - it's free and it's fun!:heartpuls
I'm not very good at succinct. Why say something in 10 words when 100 will do?

I don't know to be honest and I'm scared of sticking my neck out and saying X or Y and then you come home to no ceilings and a massive flood and I would be tortured with guilt forever and ever!0 -

I kind of agree with you there. If it were me, I would set it to around 16c just to be on the safe side. I am sure that others would set it lower, but I wouldn't take the risk, and it would still cost me less than if I were at home.
Some home insurance policies have a clause where you must have the heating on for a minimum amount of time in cold weather. For those who are keeping their heating off, this might be something you should check as it could work out very costly if something did go wrong.0 -
