Despite the snow its not as bitter a day here as it has , we turned it off low this morning and are about to put it back on so that it doesn't get too cold. I'm edgy about oil now. Because its our first winter here and with the system unknown to us all we know is that it chugs through the oil!

I really feel so much for all the folks who have to rely on oil for heating,, its just not fair that they hike the prices so much that people cannot fill their tanks..........

Im on natural gas, but its like my supplier saying to me "we want you to pay up front for a years supply of gas"........not many people could afford that..........its high time the goverment stepped in before people will freeze to death because they cant find money to fill up with............its absolutely ridiculous......

Its not just the price, but the waiting time to get a delivery ....it makes me so mad...........
  • I've got the living room on for now, will switch it off later on tonight and wrap up warm in bed!

we've booked a provisional date in the NY but I've said I will confirm the day before, because if we have some left I'd rather someone who doesn't gets it earlier. Its a long time away though.
  • Heating is on hasnt been off since Friday morning when I finished nights, I am leaving the curtains half drawn in the day time to reduce the ammount of cold coming from the windows.

The only room I turn off when we go to bed is the lounge and it drops to about 9C by morning... no insulation whatsoever in this place.

Quite cosy in my flat 22C and the air to air heat pump is doing a cracking job.

BEdrooms maintainted at 19C through the night and so we are lovely and warm

Its currently -8.4C outside so we are well and truly cosy.

Flat mate is sat in a t-shirt haha!

When I got up yesterday morning, before the heating came on, it was 9C in the kitchen!
  • It was -10.9 outside last night  and that is south west uk

horrific for those struggling to keep warm

It appears as though we are in for at least another month of this so I urge people to at least insulate just one room if you cannot afford to keep the whole house warm. Sleep in that room if you need to. Pin blankets or bubble wrap onto curtains and so on
  • -5 today at the very worst

Keeping wrapped up warm, pashmina, lots of layers. Keeping it off. £140 a month is more than I can manage!
