  • Since Freddie moved south, I have only just gotten round to finding out they had central heating down here. Tonight, I may just put a tee shirt on.
  • Both of my bathrooms are freezing! The en-suite has 2 outside walls, downstairs has 1 tho one is against the shed so just as bad as 2. Both have rubbish towel rail heaters, dont do much i can tell you!! Need to keep the doors closed but the cats have their litter tray in the downstairs 1 (THEY HATE THE SNOW!)

Our heating is on permanently now - we've had minus temperatures outside. The only problem is that our house is so old and draughty that it's not making much difference inside and my nose and fingers are still freezing. :(

The power to the whole area went off some time between 5 & 6 am. I decided to remain in bed for the duration but it came back on after a little over 2 hrs. The house is still warming up now.

Well it's apparently warmed up here since the weekend but I feel even colder. I've been trying not to keep the heating on but have just given in and put it back on - I'm sitting here with me scarf and a big wooly hat on!

On the bright side my DP must have done something to get the radiator in the living room working once I went to bed last night as there is now heat going through it - hurrah!

Well this has been the coldest day so far this winter, we have a raw wind blowing and were told by the forecasters that it will feel like -7......

I went down the beach with the dogs this arvo, I had a tee shirt on, a thick up to the chin fleece on, a heavy duck down winter coat, one scarf, one snood, one pair gloves , 2 pairs thermal socks, one wool hat, and the hat from the coat, and one pair jeans on.... oh and my wellies.
It was beautiful I could have walked further, I was so warm and comfy, but the dogs kept standing still and that means "weve had enough can we go home"..........it snowed directly off the sea, the waves were huge....Oh I want to go back, if your fully clothed it lovely to walk, Oh so refreshing............

Oh Shegar you paint a beautiful picture with your words - that sounds lovely :)

Well, I've been for a 1½mile brisk walk, and feel better and warmer for it. It was though, what you'd call "bracing"! Fabulous! :D

It was sleeting very slightly there and back, but has completely stopped now. Nothing laying anywhere, but it has made the paths and roads wet, so they're going to be lethal once it freezes tonight!

I don't know how - as it's supposed to be on it's 24hour setting - but my heating went off sometime this morning, which is why my lounge was only 14º

I tripped it before I went for my walk, and it's now 16º in the lounge (thermostat is in hall, and set to 15º) hardly tropical, but noticeably warmer than earlier in the day.

Once the curtains are closed and evening fully sets in, I think I'll probably put it up to 18º for a couple of hours to properly warm the place up.....who knows, I may even get warm enough to take my body warmer and scarf off! :D

I know there are plenty in my position - and worse - but I honestly never thought I'd see a day where I had to wear a scarf and body warmer inside my own home to keep warm
