  • It's been 8-10c here outside. It's rained most of the day.

My flat is still at 18c inside. The heating is on though.

I've had a problem in the past with mould on one exposed,north-facing wall. When I touched the wall this evening,it felt very cold,so I put the radiators on,and in all the rooms.I'll turn them off when I go to bed. They're not actually very hot,and they've been on for a few hours.

I think, that even if it stays mild,I might put them on once a week for a few hours.
  • nice to see a price increase:mad: how are some people simply going to manage, its getting silly now tbh

not had mine on today, i worry how many of us are going to cope with more rises

  • Blimey!!!

    It's still off here.
It's cold and very windy here.8c outside this morning. The sun was out for most of the day, which was lovely.I had the windows open again. So far it hasn't been lower than 17cc in the flat.I am grateful!

Thanks mollysbb for the info on feeding squirrels and hedgehogs. It must be great watching the squirrels feeding.I take it you don't see the hedgehogs, since they come out at night?

Actually marmite, I do see them; they come out after dark, but seeing as it's dark by 5, and even I'm not in bed by then (;)) I do catch sight of them. Many's the time I've come back from a night out and nearly trodden on one crossing the garden path.. Forgot to say that we have bats too! I'm not sure where they live but they circle my garden (think they like it in mine because I have a pond, so there are plenty of flying insects). They come out at dusk, which also is early, and it's lovely to see them flying. I have goldfish in the pond (hangover from ds winning one at a fair years ago...) and the frogs arrive like clockwork every spring too, although how they rememer where to come back to defeats me..

I still am managing with no heat, although I'm currently at a friend's house in london, which is, I suppose, cheating. Have left the electric blanket under the throw on the sofa on timer, just so the cats don't suffer.. It's very warm here, and I can't work out whether that's because it's warm everywhere, or because I've ventured down here from oop north..?

    Cheers

  • I'm with British Gas for dual fuel too, so worried about price rise. Between this, the VAT increase, my pay freeze and the inevitable interest rate rise, it does make me wonder how on earth we'll cope!

Anyway, heating off all day yest and today so far, mild again in London at the mo. Long may it continue!

At last weve lost the cold winds, its about 11 degrees here , so you cant really call that mild ,but its better than what weve had.......

Yes I expect now that BG have put their prices up the other energy companies will also soon anounce they will follow....

I cant really see a lot of point in changing energy suppliers so they all go up and down and I dont find it to easy changing.........do to having to change bank details, and also reading your metres 6 times before they get it all set up.......it just seem such a hazzle TBH........I really cant see why the goverment cant jump in and say "hang on its peoples lives at risk with increases like this." the next you hear is that so and so energy company has just made so and so profit........dont it p... you off..............
  • Yes, shegar - it does..!!

Off now but I'll put it on in a little while. I'm getting a bit chilly but too lazy to get up to put it on!
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.
