Right, it is nippy and I want to try and get a grip with the condensation, tomorrow I'll do the washing up liquid, tonight I'm going to try leaving heating on with the temp set to 60 farenheit...I can't think in farenheit, but I think its worth seeing if there is any improvement with that
OK, well condensation was admittedly a lot better, but I didn't feel the benefit of the heating in bed, and worried a lot about the cost. It went off this morning, and though the house was warmer to wake up to I go out very early, and turned it off then. It stayed off until an hour ago and has gone on (set boiler to 65ish farenheit.). I've just eaten and having a glass of wine so I'm warm from those:oand I'll turn heating off again soon.

It hasn't felt as cold today as it was yesterday. Not had the heating on at all which I'm very proud of as I'm usually the first to want it on. Instead we've just got into the habit of layering and having a hot water bottle. Starting to get a bit chilly first thing in the morning as the bathroom is dramatically colder than the living area (live in a bedsit) due to 2 outside walls and being completely tiled. Need to go in there with your slippers on!
Still very hopeful of not having it on at all, realised we might need to have it on once or twice to make sure things don't freeze but other than that we should be okayTimes is 'ard.0 -

have you got bath mats? I find washable cotton rugs invaluable for bathroom and kitchen , but wear slippers too.:o0 -
I've read this thread avidly from the very start and someone, shamefully I can't remember who, recommended some lined slipper socks from peacocks. I would like to say thank you! I went and bought some, and found some similar in primark too, so bought xmas presents aswell. They make fantastic bedsocks
Cheers

Still off here :T, but we have decided to put it on as from tomorrow, (if its still as cold) tbh I could live with it off a bit longer, but dd keeps saying she is cold, and its horrible getting out of the shower into a cold room , also it will be nice having warm dry towels
, glad to have lasted this long though :j

Fairly mildish here at the moment so the heating is on low, but my days! the wind is howling through the house.
Just been out on the front step and the tree over the road is swaying madly.
I came in before it scared me too much. Very gusty.0 -

Have you got anything you could block it with temporarily, a square of cardboard taped to the fire surround or even a blanket gaffer taped over it. A bit unsightly, but would keep the draught out till you can do something a bit more presentable.0
