39 units in one day????? Some mistake surely?

What gadgets were they using? That's equivalent to boiling the kettle for 13 hours continuously.

What is your normal daily useage?

keicar NO mistake def 39 units I know because I read meter on 1st of every month esp now weather damp so when i use things that not on all the time i can keep track

We normally average around 20 -25 this time of year last time we went above that was when i had the tumble dryer and i gave that to my daughter a few months ago.

I'm going back to reading it every day this week it was a bit of luck i read it this morning i don't normally but i had to use the the dry buddi my daughters school blazer was still very wet from all the rain yesterday shoes too so hung them all up zipped it up switched it on then came downstairs meter by front door and just glanced at first just checked again and another 4 added on so dry bud x 2 wash loads =4 units even tht don't sound right will need to do some more checking
Oh and talking of kettles we only use ours once a day if that if i want a hot drink i just fill me cup and blast it i micro wave less than 2mins so can't even blame the kettle looks like i'm going to have to check all sockets

  • heating is off during the day & comes on about half 6 for a couple of hours @ approx 17oc. Although the kitchen is toatsie warm once the chirstmas cakes are out the oven.
I'm only working 2 days a week (joys of being a supply teacher) and out of sheer principle hate putting the heating on when I'm not earning full time. I have discovered which clothes of mine layer well with each other and the summer vests are being put to good use under them all!! I've also re-discovered the delights of having diluting juice made with hot water...yum

i am a teacher and could easily just go in for lessons and have long periods at home-i have made a conscious effort to go into school for the full day now-i have an office and computer and the kitchen assistant makes my coffee-so home from home!-since the beginning of term on the 1st october my electric bill has dropped from 70 to 50 --in the local currency-a reduction of 28pc approx- -hopefully this reduction will show in my first autumn gas bill due this week.-

  • Still mild and sunny here,so heating still off.

I came home from work at 5pm and it was 19c in the sitting-room,which gets the sun most of the day.

It's going to stay like this until Sunday, apparently, when it'll get colder.

    Hi peeps :D

its 9 degrees outside and 18 inside atm, the heating has been on for an hour just to warm through as we had a radiator refitted in the hallway today. It has a small leak - really small so warming it up may seal it.

We`ve had lots of rain here today and i`ve lots of washing to dry so i`ve put it all on the rads to help it along, got to take advantage of the heat and not waste it.

Now the good news - DH went for an interview today and he got the job! :j:j:j:D:D:D It doesn`t start for a couple of weeks and he forgot to ask whether its a month in hand or a week in hand for payment but i`m over the moon, i feel so relieved. All in all we should only really struggle for a month so the light is there shining bright at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for all your good wishes everyone , i`m sure that it made a difference :D

    Fab news Sunnyday! :j:j:j

Heating is still off here. Took me ages to get the fire going cos the coal was wet so was very tempted by the convenience of flicking a switch.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!
