OH NO:eek: i was hoping this mild weather would mean no big freeze.Wouldn't it be nice if this weather continued ,some hopes.Still making the most of it while it's like this. Heating still off and not even feeling cold.:T0 -

Just wanted to say how inspired I am from all of your posts. I have put the heating on (just for an hour or so most evenings) as I have 2 children and they have showers after sports etc. But I am being much more vigilant about turning it off quicker in the evening and dont have it on at in morning ( out at work during day ) I am determined to reduce our utility bills!!0

Ive just come back from a very hot holiday so my heating is definately on......:D0

I am putting it on for an hour or two a day to just dry clothes. We have 2 toddlers who get through at least one complete outfit of clothes a day, and the weather is too vile to dry outdoors most of the time.
I only use tumble dryer in extreme necessity. OH uses it regularly...

Just found this thread - had my boiler serviced today, and the heating was tested and left on. But, I switched it off as soon as the man went, and have not put it back on.
I feel quite warm enough, but that's because I'm wearing a vest, a short-sleeved t-shirt, a thin woollen jumper and a hoodie, plus jeans, 2 pairs of socks and furry slippers. If I feel cold I'll slip on my thick fleece gilet thing and maybe even wrap a quilt round my legs (not a duvet, a home sewn patchwork one).
I did say I would leave the heating off until October, but in fact hardly had it on last month, just on a couple of colder days. So then the aim was 1st November, and here I still am.
I use the imeasure website to record my gas and leccy use each week, and am achieving an A rating for energy efficiency! That is important to me, but to be honest it's keeping the bills down that's in the forefront of my mind. So far so good!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
Our heating is still OFF . Can't quite believe we're at 2nd November and it has only been used for half an hour a couple of weeks ago, to test it.
The days are getting shorter though now, and when there's no sun, the flat doesnt warm up quite so much, its 19 degrees here now, so i reckon in the next couple of weeks we will turn it on. If we get mild weather with sun though, we could last until 15 November perhaps!!?:j0 -

Thanks for this, ive just signed up :T
Our heating is still off, which im really happy about.
Ive also set myself a target not to spend a penny until next tuesday, apart from direct debits, bearing in mind there are two adults and two children, one who is at school, here with me, it will be quite tough for me!
Day one is over :T0 -
Still off here, and it's the SECOND of November!!!! :j:j:j:j
Winchelsea, thanks for the tip. I'll join that site too! :TBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Still off... we've had it on for an or so twice since May but the OH put it on for an unknown period of time on Friday as he was working from home. Still, quite good considering we used to wack it on when we felt the slightest chill! If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0
