Still not on here, we have used the gas fire a couple of times though. It is very cold here today so might test it out tonight at bathtime. Well done everyone who has held out until 1st November.MFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

OH put ours on last night when I was out at a school governors' meeting. The boys rooms were pretty chilly, but I think OH noticed it, not the boys.
I think it's good going to get this far, and ours is only on for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. I light a fire other times if it is chilly, or go out!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Well, it's the first of November, and we haven't had the heating on yet. But I have lit the fire in the living room for the last couple of nights, so I guess I shouldn't be too proud of myself!
I'd like to stick it out some more if poss, but I have now set the thermostat to 18 degrees (It was set to 15 and didn't come on) so we'll see if its cold enough to get the heating to come on.
Well done to everyone who has managed without.0 -
I haven't weakened yet, but may well put the bathroom radiator on from tonight if nothing else. I don't like using a cold soggy towel after my shower and they are just not drying out any more.
Beautiful sunny day here, laundry's out on the line, and the birds are singing fit to burst!Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -

It hasn't been off today. My house is a very well insulated mid-terrace but the northerly wind is blowing in the main air vent in the living room and the extractor fans. I can't block the air vent off as I have a back boiler in there. There's a sofa in front of the vent but the wind howls underneath it.
I only have 3 radiators on though. Where the wind doesn't blow through is okay.
We've had rain here for the past 14 days out of 16. Now we have wind, hailstones and sleet to boot. Brrr!!0 -

Our heating went on last Saturday as it was cold and windy, and still felt cold all wrapped up too. It was on a background heat until yesterday. Yesterday was a very cold windy day and frosty overnight.
We feel good that we waited till late October.
I'm still making sure only the rooms we use are well heated and the others are on a basic 'stop it getting damp' temperature. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

We've not put ours on yet, but we're on the top floor of a 3 storey block so we're being warmed by everyone else, to a point. Would love to not need it at all0
