We had them in a previous house and I thought they were great and very economic. FlutterbyUK has them in her flat and I think she said her electricity bill for one month is around the £40 mark.
Thanks honey, I shall do just that now! xxOn the up

Ours is still off but it was chilly this morning!!! And I had to dig out the hats, scarfs and gloves for the kids and the dog's coat for his morning walk! House warm now as sun been shinning in the living room window all day. Might put the electric fire on for a bit this evening - depends how it goes!0

I'm working from home today and ventured out early to do some grocery shopping. While it's gloriously sunny, the breeze is icy and it felt more like full blown winter.
So now back in with a fleece on, house boots, and a flask with herbal tea in it. And heating still off. :A
EDIT - Just seen this post in the Arms. Check it out for dire cold predictions.

If true... :eek:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Well i had to scrape through the ice on the car this morning
I was surprised at how thick it was, the temp when i went outside was minus 1 and it was 13 degrees inside.
Its warmed up to a massive two degrees outside now and it was 13 degrees inside again but i`ve clicked the heating on for 20 mins and its already gone up to 17 degrees.
I`m going to experiment with the thermostat and find the point that it switches on when the inside temp drops below 15 as i think that will be a good temp to keep us at for a while. The weather is set to get colder so then i shall keep the heating switch on and let the thermostat do its thing if the temp drops enough.
Our little old doggie is perfectly happy wrapped in his blankets but when i`m not here he loses them when he gets up and i`d hate to think that he would be cold, oldies need looking after and as he has a heart condition he needs to be pampered a bit. The young dog dosen`t seem to feel the cold and the cat has started to use her furry basket again so they both seem happy.
Thanks to the peeps posting the temperatures for health reasons thingy, that will come in handy to keep refering to, i rang Dad last night to check that he was warm enough and he`s just started putting the gas fire on at night for a couple of hours, he`s in his seventies and was brought up in a house with no central heating and wouldn`t hear of it being put in. As long as he`s started with the fire he`ll be fine. He seems to thrive in the cold - wish i was as hardy

Mine is now on for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening but only on quite low. It has been freezing here today and is quite cold in the house at the moment but heating doesn't come on until later when all the others come in. I am wrapped in a fleece at the moment:D"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"
