    Someone posted about temperatures required for health in here last winter

    Does this help at all?
    -from a warm and well cardboard thermometer
    All temperatures degrees C
    Below 9 -risk of hypothermia
    12 - too cold increased- risks of heart attacks and strokes
    15 Discomfort - risk of respiratory illness
    18 Comfortable house temp
    21 Ideal house temp
    24 plus (we should be so lucky) Hot ,reduce heat stay warm.

    :eek: Oh dear! I spent most of last winter with an indoor temperature between 13 and 15C. It's 13.5 right now but I feel warm enough with a hot water bottle, lots of warm clothes and some fleece rugs. I find 21C way too warm - I wonder is that guide for people who are very ill/vulnerable?
    Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
    Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

    As long as YOU are warm, ie. in spite of the low temperature you have the means to keep yourself warm (hot water bottle etc), then that should be fine because your body doesn't have to work extra hard to adjust its temperature. Hope it makes sense. :o

    Thanks Quasar, that's reassuring and makes perfect sense. Normally I would light the fire but I got in late and it was too much faff, will be in bed soon anyway.

    You too? :eek: :rotfl::rotfl:

    When I'm not working in the morning I always stay in bed an extra hour, in the winter. It saves on heating, and I just love that feeling of warmth and comfort when outside is raining and/or windy.

    It might be a good idea if someone remembers to post this every couple of pages or so for newcomers to the thread?
