I'm a wimp, I've got mine set on the termostat for 19 degrees and it came on for the first time last night. Was nice to come in from picking kids up to a nice toasty house.0

Still off here in Cambridge. It's getting cold now though. It's 17 degrees in the living room. We just had the annual boiler service today but I'm hoping we can hold out until 1-Nov before we switch it on.0

Thanks for the reminder! :T We must get the boiler serviced! :eek:0 -
Mine is on and has been since the beginning of the month. This is because:
a) I'm a wimp.
b) I'm not working and can't face sitting in a cold house all day.
c) I'm a student and can't study if I'm cold.
d) I'm in Scotland and it's *freezing*!
And, yes, I do feel rather guilty!Household: Laura + William-cat

Stop feeling guilty, you've given up the fags, there has to be some benefit. Having only been to Scotland once in the 'summer' if you can call it that, your no wimp.0 -
Mine isn't on as I currently don't have any :S having it sorted on monday morning but planning on keeping off for as long as possible.
However I have had to use a plug in electric heater in the girls room a couple of nights as its so cold in there and they were waking up because of it, so extra fleece blankets in there nowDebt free wannabe

For the little money it will cost just to flick the heating on for half hour to take the chill off, its got to be worth it surely? You don't have to go mad with heating but definately nobody should feel guilty for putting it on!!
Be warm peeps0 -
On for 2 hours and now off till mid November unless the weather becomes drastic. Though the windows will be shut where possible!
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
I've got mine well and truly on now.
Mr bluebag is freezing, he used to be like a radiator and was all huffing and puffing when I put the heating on, but since he has been on blood thinning tablets he really feels the cold.
I just have the fire on in the front room when he's not here to keep the bills down a bit.
Needs must I guess, I wish they would discover a way to generate heat cheaply though, it would be really nice not to have to worry about keeping warm without going bankrupt.0 -
Still off here :j
7 degrees outside and 16 inside, all the curtains are closed as its cold and miserable and chucking it down outside. I`m trying to shut all the nastiness outside and i have a lamp on and some candles lit to make it feel cosy
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0
