Is your heating ON or OFF?

Off - but not through choice!
The only heating we have is an open fireplace in the living room - admittedly we do live somewhere slightly more temperate than the UK but we still have nights where it gets down to about 3 or 4 degrees. That combined with very high ceilings and absolutely no insulation means I spent July and August (our winter) doing my best impression of Mr Blobby. Before this we lived somewhere super hot (50 degrees most of the year) so moving back to the UK in the middle of winter is going to be horrific. My parents find it very amusing that when I visited them in May I made them put the heating on...
Suffice to say if I was in the UK our central heating would most definitely be on!"No society can surely be flourishing and happy of which by far the greater part of the numbers are poor and miserable"Adam Smith6/300 -
Still off. even the kids having their baths last night didn't say they were cold. which they did a couple weeks back. having said that, as the evenings are drawing in. the curtains are getting pulled earlier. and that keeps any warmth in . I find if i leave the curtains open till about 7 ish. it does get quite chilly. But then both hubby and i are snugglers and like nothing more than to shut the curtains early and shut the world out.0

Still off here. Had the log burner on a couple of times though. Although this was mostly so I could put the clothes airer in front of it so the washing could dry. Its not that cold here but definitely damper than I'd like and the clothes are hanging all over the house for days at a time!MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0

Hi
Still off in East London.Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
Off. We are extremely lucky to be in a new build that has fantastic insulation as well as being in a 3rd floor flat with one more on top. Last year in the middle of winter we barely had to have the heating on. We saved a fortune. Unfortunately our water is metered thus the saving we gain from gas/elec seems to go on water!0

I was going to try and leave the heating off until the end of the month, but I think I am going to have to give in and turn it on. I have now been woken up three nights running because I am so cold (I have two double duvets, a hot water bottle and jimjams on) so I'm afraid it's going to have to go on.0

Our heating is off at the moment (we did use it a couple of times last week), and the thermostat is set at 16.5 degrees, so the temperature has not dropped inside the house at nights to allow it to kick in.
The temperature in the living room went down to 18.5 degrees yesterday, but as long as I tell my missus it is 21 degrees, then we won't be firing the heating up.:o:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

It's currently 19c in here at the moment, and I have the windows open. It's quite nice today - sunny but breezy.
ETA - on the northwest weather forecast we have just been told we could get showers here this afternoon.0 -
Gave in - it's on - daytime temps are still good but the evening a bit chilly.0
