Is your heating ON or OFF?

Our heating is still off. It's still quite mild here. We are still sitting around in t-shirts in the evening so there are probably two increases in clothing to go before the heating goes on.:)0

Here too - it was 19 today positively spring like :j
I have had my loft insulation and cavity wall done recently and not sure how much that is affecting it but there is clearly no need for any heating yet here - tomorrow however is another day when it needs to go on it will go on in the mean time I will bask in the pleasure of denying EDF my dosh.0 -
Not on here yet either. The evenings get quite nippy, but (while hubby sits around in a thin shirt) I'm wearing thermal underwear, leg warmers, woollen jumper and sleeve-less jacket, so I'm still hoping to last until the end of October
Interesting for me to note how, as soon as I have eaten a hot meal or drink, I get really warm and have to take one of my layers off.0 -
Ours isn't on! I'm going to try my hardest to wait as long as possible before putting it on. There were a few rather nippy evenings over the past 2 weeks but I didn't give in - Just put more clothes on and snuggled under my gorgeous big soft throw!!!

I lived in a rented damp bedsit and the landlord supplied one. Even though I left it on nearly all the time I still had to throw out some bags, shoes and clothes that had mould growing on them. I was very glad to leave that place!
Hmm, i'm not sure to be honest. I did speak to them last year as had a lot of condensation on one window (which is odd as none of the others get it?) They came and had a look but didn't seem overly concerned despite the fact that due to me wiping them down a lot, it looked like the paint was coming off around the edges. I assume it is related in some way, but there is nothing on the walls or anything else, just on a couple of items of furniture. They just said to keep the windows open more and have the heating on...
The flat really is lovely and my landlady is SO helpful and will literally be round within the hour if I ever have an issue so I may mention it if it gets any worse, but I think in the mean time i'll get a few of those moisture traps.Very good very good... although I sense a little... disrespect! (just kidding!)
As for rooms... Hmmm I used to hang my washing on the radiators but that flat was as air tight as a par of fishnet stockings... Always worrying when you can see daylight round the windows I think... at the time was all I could afford LOL
There must be an underlying problem though for mould to develop surely? we had mould in THIS house and given that was a few years ago and it's not even 6 years old yet we found out it was a leaking shower tray... builders had fund fixing and repairing that! GRRR
Sorry...I knew I should have curtseyed :rotfl:
Like I said above, apart from the condensation, there isn't any mould on the walls. The mould (it may not even be mould, i'm no expert!) on the furniture is green and smells musty. It wipes off, but i'm sure wiping it off isn't helping the issue. The items it is on are all against internal walls so it's not like they're even affected by a change in temperature.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

Still off. I noticed the temperature when i was putting washing out, think it read 19. My thermal socks arrived today, brilliant. Kept my feet toasty warm all day.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Ours is regretfully on for one hour in the mornings before we get up, but we've got no carpet in the house yet (being fitted 15th Oct) so hoping we can knock the heating off for a few weeks after then before winter really sets in. It's SO cold without carpet, you wouldn't think it made that much of a difference but it does.:staradmin0

I'm hanging in, although I have been tempted as the evenings are certainly chilly - fleece housecoats are certainly warm and cosy and a pair of socks does the trick for me......but not sure for how much longer.SallyD0

Curled up on the sofa in my dressing gown, blanket wrapped around me and two puppies keeping my tootsies warm
Heating still off, determined to keep it that way a while longer...;)Leason learnt :beer:0 -

It's still mild here so heating is still off. Which is good - the longer it stays off, the better. I was looking back at my Imeasure readings from last winter and when I needed the heating on all day during the coldest bit of the winter last January it was costing me €60 a week! Luckily, that was short term and I was able to afford that cos I hadn't swtiched it on till November.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!
