Is your heating ON or OFF?

I must admit that I thrive in cool weather and prefer a low temperature indoors even in winter - well, not too low of course. But today it's been fine for me. Will have to put on a light fleece later on, but that's about it.
Congrats on your 1000th post . Keep going and you'll reach me.
I think I may have died before achieving your postings, they are phenomenal.

I received a temperature card with a thermometer from an energy savings group. it has suprised me about just how warm/hot we are supposed to heat our houses to! its says 12 degrees =risk of hypothemia 15 degrees is cool but there is risk of infection 18 degrees is ideal bedroom temperature and 21 degrees is ldeal living room temperature 24 is too hot and turn down the heating. We've all had colds and its currently reading too hot as DH has lit both wood burners."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

Ours is still off too, when i say off, i mean we don't have the timer on, yet. But we have switched it on a couple of times for an hour to warm the house through, does that count?0

Ours is off too (now) I woke up this morning to rads on!!! The thermostat had kicked in so i've sorted that right out lol.
If we're cold, theres the blankets over the sofas, extra jumpers or if it's really chilly - the coal fire and electric blanket. We haven't even put the winter duvet on yet - no point, it hasn't been that old at night and we won;t feel the benefit of it when it is cold if we do it now.

Coal fire dying down now, thank god as I am boiling! Have to keep going to other parts of the house to cool down! It was colder this morning when I lit it.
I do love a proper fire, but that is a downside to it isn't it? The number of times I've lit a fire because it's cold, only to wish I could put it out again a couple of hours later because it's too hot!0 -
Ours has been on low, but running constantly for about 14 days; when we were younger and couldn't afford heating we did the whole only heat one room of the house, and only have heating in the bathroom for 15 mins before you go in.
After this, and when we both got jobs, I swore we would never be cold and go without heating, and we would never, ever have a cold bathroom again. Our bathroom is built on a extension with rubbish insulation so gets cold and smells weird, even in summer, and we therefore have heating on in there, however little all year.
I totally appreciate the different reasons for people not having their heating on yet, but I couldn't live in a cold house, wearing coats and gloves etc inside!0 -
I've had a nice, long hot soak earlier in the evening - not very mse I know, but on Sundays I like to have a long bath instead of a shower. A little luxury does no harm :A. In fact it has well warmed me so that I'm STILL in short sleeves! :rotfl:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
