well mine is off completely now and has been for about 2 weeks:j
That's us as well. I detest having the heat on in March so encourage hoodies/jumpers in the house (not allowed hoods up in the lounge though ). That's us now till next winterNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
Friday at work it was boiling, so we went round turning the rads off, got in this morning and it was freezing, guess this time of year is a guessing game.
At home, still have heating on for couple of hours in the morning and about 4 hours at night. I don't do cold, but am better than OH who wanders round in a t shirt saying 'its not hot, is it'whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

We've got oil-fired central heating. It's off during the day now as it's only me here, and it's been relatively warm during the day - I just put my dressing gown on if it gets cold. It does go on in the evening though.
Recently I had a man from Manx Gas come round to check for a gas leak - he'd had a report that there was a smell of gas. He told me that he has oil-fired CH as the gas is too expensive!0 -
Still ON, but have cut down the number of hours its on and turned the temp down...gas fire is definately OFF - using the 'candle fire' if its chilly in the evening.Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

Hi all. Today it is 8C outside, 15C in the conservatory and 18C in the house. No heating on at all today and the temp is starting to drop a bit with no CH to boost the warmth. I may light the coal fire 3ish as we have loads of wood to use up. Washing on the line so I hope the rain will hold off. A dull day outside with not to much sun around. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
When I'm anywhere near it, it's OFF... but then housemates seem to appear... and then it's suddenly on again. The same housemates who wander around in t-shirt and jeans then put the heating on???
Or there is the housemate who keeps using an electric heater!
I wouldn't care but we already have a HUGE bill coming due to the harsh winter and terrible house we share, we need to try harder to find old fashioned ways to warm up!
How long would I get for killing them? :mad:On the up

I would advise you to reconsider having the heating on 24/7 for another winter. It's a terrible waste of energy heating the home when people are tucked up in bed. It's a myth that heating up a house from cold is more expensive than having the heat on low all day and night.
For a bit of light reading, when you have a week or so to spare, I'd recommend you have a look at the "Preparing For Winter" thread between now and next autumn. Lots of heat-saving tips and tricks on there.0 -
Mines still on at the moment, but the thermostat is turned down, it's usually on for a couple of hours in the morning, and about 4 in the evening (on a timer), so if its quite warm now it won't come on now the thermostat's on low0

Off for most of the time apart from a little shot of heat in the early morning, DH likes it like this as he gets up and has a shower very early before going to work. Fine by me, as for the rest of the time all family members have accepted that it is OFF!
Still needing the odd hot water bottle in bed, though! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
