I really feel for you.Hope your not up north where its really cold.I feel sorry for myself sometimes but at least my house is well insulated.
thankfully not im down south so i guess a bit warmer (and one of not many areas thats had a cold weather payment triggered)
dreading the gas bill in febuary, used 120 units of gas already since 6th november and that was with pretty much going without in november , come january im going to have to cut back drastically
i cannot put a curtain up by door, as its wooden topped with glass not sure if im making much sense but anything if use to fix a pole or similer to would end out the other side if that makes sense
in the summer the door fits in the frame fine, in the winter it swells and bows causing the gap that daylight can be seen under, used a rolled up duvet last year as a draught excluder not big enough, but after one winter it went nastyDebt free

Mine's on at 17c. I find it's less of a shock when you go out. I'm also well wrapped up indoors, hubby and I would rather keep on piling on the layers than turn up the heating.

Mine's on quite a lot at the moment. Turn it off, and within an hour the house feels really cold again. Still, I'm making good use of the gas. As well as heating the house, I'm getting the washing dried, then proving the bread on the radiators after they've been turned off, but still quite warm,
Temp outside was -14 during the night. Right now it's -8 :eek:0 -
Mine has to be on permanently at the moment

Broke down on 30 Dec...had to call emergency engineer out on 31 Dec (letting agents conveniently closed)
Paid for 'bodge' fix on boiler as of course parts depots were all closed; but engineer said it was best not to turn it off as it might not start up again (needs a new fan). Landlord has now said "see how you go"......and so isn't going to fork out for it just yet!
Although I am getting my money back out of the rent that I forked out at new year...I daren't switch the boiler off now! (even on Auto). Just turning it down to under 10c when I go out of the house and whack it back up to 20 when we're in, and then down again when we go to bed.
Last night's temperature near us: -17.6!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dread the next gas bill!!0 -
-17 here last night too... the two heaters we use have both been on for a couple of weeks, maintaining DS's room at 17, and the living room at 17-19 depending on the time of day. The kitchen is currently 8! Not going to heat it though as the patio doors leak heat like nobody's business!
Loving the snow though! Sadly too lcal to work to be able to skive

More snow now on its way...eeek
