Is your heating ON or OFF?

I admire all of you who are managing to keep your heating of I wish i could it would save a fortune but I have learnt through the years that the cheepest way I find of having the heating on is to keep it on all the time I am also on a pre payment meter which is a pain but easier for me financially at the moment but if I keep it on all the time it costs me £12 a week yet when I was turning it of and on as needed it was costing me over £20 a week. I have to keep the house warm due to mine and my sons medical condition but have found this is cheepest just adjust the temperature as it is needed.:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0

Those two mild days over Christmas were a very welcome respite from the cold snap. Looks like we are in for another cold week though. Roll on Spring. Can't stand this cold weather.0

On 8-10 in the morning, 5-8 in the evening - can't afford any more so thank goodness it's warmed up again. In fact it was so lovely and mild yesterday I had the back door open for a couple of hours to refresh the stale air. Dog and cats thought it was heaven, runing in and out at will0

Fitted one of those radio controlled thermostats a couple of weeks ago and it's making a significant saving. Because you can play around with the location of the thermostat you can find the best location.0

Wish it was mild here - the thermometer at the door was reading minus 13 at 9 o'clock this morning ! Its sunny and clear skies now but so very very cold that it hurts your chest if you get out of breath. We got the stove turned up to "fry" lol!0

you are right mardatha, saving money and doing a personal challenge is all very well but you do have to think about your health at the end of the day. Still blinkin freezing here and we've had more snow on top of the ice that's been hanging around for the past week or so! I'm of to light my fire in a min. Stay warm everyone
