Off. I think the foam filled walls and thick lagging in the loft is helping and doing its stuff to insulate our semi. It is a little chilly but not to bad as I am moving around and there is only me to think of as everyone is out.
I will confess to having the tumble dryer on (I blame the towels) to get them dry and fluffy. Sc is also giving out some heat. I am going out too after lunch so would be heating the house for mr. no-one.
Later will light the coal fire as it looks so cosy and throws of the heat.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

  • Spent 5 hours yesterday freezing my bottom off at F1 day at Brooklands race track so the heating went on for an hour when we got in, otherwise I wouldn't have shifted the chill in my bones!! First time this autumn/winter so far though.

i have had to turn mine on as we were just not getting any washing dry. even though the sun has been out several days its just not drying. Only have it on an hour in the morning and an ahour and half in the evenings. happy though as managed to keep it off much longer than last year.

Why is it that people who work in shops have it so warm they can walk around in t.shirts? Yet the customers who come in get hot in their jumpers and coats.. I know if we go to town in a car a light jacket is enough, but if we walk to town in our warm coats and scalfs and then go into the shopping mall we then cook.

I know exactly what you mean - it's the same with trains. I left the house this morning feeling pretty warm despite the fact that I didn't have heating on last night and it was frosty outside. (only 13c inside when I woke up) Once I got on the train, the heating was on at full blast and I got too warm. When I got out from the train the weather felt freezing!!

I have had the winter duvet on the past couple of weeks and it's so cosy!
When I finally sit down in the afternoon/evening to watch TV, I put the electric blanket on - and light couple of candles...keeps me warm enough... :p ...until it's time to crawl into my pre-heated bed...

we have been putting ours on for
    30mins of an evening,

we had a mountain of washing on friday and
non stop rain,so washed it all, three large
laundery baskets of jeans bedding towels etc
cost us £3 to dry the lot,it would have cost us
a lot more than £3 on our electric to dry all that
in our own tumble drier,so for us it was good
    money saving
    :j:j:j
  • Woke up freezing today so have set mine to come on for an hour in the morning and 3 hours at night
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
