Heating still off here, but it has dropped very chilly - under 13 degrees in bedroom - so I have relented and 'permitted' the autumn duvet (9.5 togs) to be used from tonight :rotfl:.

Very cold here today and I've got my DD (not well) visiting for some tlc with 3dgk's. Decided to put the heating on as youngest is not two yet and lo and behold - it's NOT WORKING . Checked the boiler to find the little window is showing F.75 - which I think means 'low gas pressure' for some reason. Checked the hot water and that's not working either (combi boiler). Engineer is due out Thursday morning - c'est la vie!0

I'm determined to hold out another week or two, and at least the rest of the family have stopped being sniffy about hot water bottles now they realise I'm serious! I have told DD23 that if she wants unlimited use of electricity and oil without me grumbling or ranting every single day, then the direct debit can come out of her bank account instead of mine. She had the portable convector on in her room when she was getting ready for bed, only for 5 mins but grrr.... I've bought cheap supermarket fleeces, some to line curtains, and charity shop blankets and throws, warm gilets and big fleece hoodies, there are enough dressing gowns and slippers, hot water bottles and wheat bags for all of us, and each bed has a cat sleeping at the end :-).0

No GCH to put on here. I've used the electric blanket on the bed a few nights, though. Bed is my nemesis. I can be wearing 3 layers of everything with 2 heavy winter duvets over me and wrapped in a fleece blanket and still not get warm. And there's nothing worse than lying awake for hours unable to sleep cause you're too cold and shivery.0

What heating??
I do not have central heating and don't feel the need for it either. Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -
We've gone from just putting ours on every now and then to switching the timer on last night so that it comes on for half an hour in the morning and half an hour at lunch time. Have had the wood burning stove going as well.0

I've relented and put ours on for a couple of hours the last few nights but not had it on in a morning yet.
I was cold when I got up this morning at half 5  but when I opened the back door it actually felt warmer outside so I left the door open!!
The heating is on at work and I'm finding it really hot and stuffy, everyone thinks I'm mad as I'm walking round in a t-shirt!0
