Off, off, off. I had it on once for half an hour in the morning, last week mebbe, cos it was dead cold, but off ever since. Not lit the fire, not used the tumble dryer either, but I have used the phrase 'put another jumper on then' when complaints of feeling chilly have been heard.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
  • we havent put ours on, our gas/electricity bills went up by £40 a few months ago and as we are on a dmp really need to get that down! no tumble drying either all summer (although not keen on line drying as we live near the sea & had to re wash a lot sue to seagull poo!) but not sure how i will cope all winter, hung some stuff up indoors the other day as wet out & 24 hours later it was still wet.

Hi icecube2009 try and get a spin dryer off your local freecycle or LETS if you belong so you dont have to part with sterling but they spin much better than a washing machine so it doesnt take to long to dry:D.

Heating set at 16 it has come on for a burst past couple of mornings when we get up at 6.30 put 2 of us have chronic lung conditions so chill needs to be taken off, but it soon turns itself off :D
  • like huxley ours is set at 16 - it has come on a couple of times in the morning - but still pretty mild here in York.

Sadly it's grey and raining today - and i did notice that washing that was out for 6 hours yesterday wasn't dry when i brought it in!

still quite pleased at how little the heating is on - gicven that the clocks alter in 10 or so days...

Still quite mild here so far :) - so no heating on yet. DID notice that yesterday's washing didn't dry properly on the outdoor line - was quite dull in the afternoon, but cooler and no wind at all.

Ours went on, but since then we've hardly used it. Night storage heater is on in bedroom but have woken up with a headache last 3 mornings because of warm room. I definitely feel I sleep better in a cool room but with extra covers on the bed if the temperature really drops outside. Noticed on our electiricy bills, (Npower) that they're including a little sort of bar chart thing to show how much energy has been used this quarter compared to last year. Ours is showing that we are now using less electricity but because the prices have gone up so much, we're paying more than ever before! I'm going to get something back from the robdogs if we have to sit wrapped in 5 layers of clothing!!

    Hello All

Still off at the moment. We are halfway through the month now, and as i am off work today - i am really beginning to feel it - especially in my hands as I type.

We are away for the weekend so that means we are out of the house until Sunday lunchtime - by which time i hope that the oven will warm the house.

Just read something in one of the papers which says that prices are set to rise 60% in the next 5 years - i guess we all need to get used to putting on an extra jumper. The non OS members of the public are going to have to learn from us sooner rather than later

I'm really pleased (smug) to say that ours still isn't on.

I told the girlfriend in September "we can have it on at the start of October" but then she hasn't even mentioned it since then... we might not last for much longer if the weather changes but we'll see.

My gas bill has been about £2 per month over summer as we only use it for cooking (aside from heating the house and water) in winter.

ours in on for an hour in morning and hour at bedime when kids have the bath's.

Through the day it is sill quite warm but soon as it starts to get dark the temp drops right down. i've been shutting windows around 2 ish and pulling curtains about half 5 ish to help keep any warmth in. plus got extra blankets and fleeces on beds, sofa etc.
  • Still not on but do need to wrap up a bit though. Bit warmer here too.
