Still no heating here butmy 2 year old did come through this morning and got in our bed (why is they never go in daddys side?) and my god he was liek a block of ice - daddy put him to bed last ngiht in a nappy and a tshirt so no wonder hes freezing!!! Hes cuddled up in his big padded blanket now watching fimbles on the TV.
May have to give in with the heating later because my step son is here and hes such a wimp - so it mgiht have to go on. Althgouh might have to give in to my littel fan heater later but just to get the sofa covers dry, would use TD but dont want to shrink them!Time to find me again0 -
I put the gas fire on for half an hour this morning to take chill off downstairs, my two and three year olds went to bed in there fleecy all in one pj's and had an extra blanket on there beds must have been warm enough as they slept all night.
It's not cold enough during the day here to have the heating on yet so the central heating is staying off for now,my DH works outside and always complains that the house is too warm he just does'nt feel the cold,i know its really cold when he asks for his thermal undies.0 -
Someone way back in the postings mentioned using a hot water bottle to warm bed - can any else remember the metal frame type thing that had a light bulb in and you put in your bed to warm it up. My mother had one, and it used to be really nice, because it warmed a lot of the bed, instead of just one spot.0

Ah well I'm going to switch it on tonight. I've got a dose of bronchitis and the upstairs air temp is too chilly for a bad chest. Going to send other half behind the piles of stuff in the spare room to find the valve and turn it! Then it will be on for an hour in the morning and evening every day while the hot water is heating. Timer is set for an hour and it's staying that way!!!0

naaaa - it's still mild IMHO - lowest temps we've had here have been in the 40s (farenheit) so still balmy really.
Littlies have been ensconced in thermal jim jams and extra blankets, and i've begun to wear my usual winter bed ensemble of nightie and fleece (fetching, huh?) but otherwise it's business as usual.
I'm going to see how long we can hold out - imagine the money you'd save if you didn't put the heating on all winter:D0 -

Not put it on yet. Had to turn on the main room gas fire for a short while the other day when we had visitors!0
