The thicker duvet is on tonight, the TV and laptop is on and I have more clothes on - feel lovely and warm:)
One room is very cold but it is not used. No-one has asked for it to be switched on, so hanging in there and I am in central Scotland! An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
Resisting temptation so far, but I don't like being cold - when I go upstairs it feels really chilly....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........will NOT reach for the switch!0

Still not on here - I'm aiming to keep it off until November.
My dad came round today.....and went outside to 'get a heat' ....his idea of sarcasim!
Its around 16c in the house at the mo. - its fine for me - I think you become used to the cold - I hate 'Summer' holidays but love Snow covered slopes. The coldest I have ever been in was -27degrees. I have been 'night skiing' in Canada and it hit -19c - now that was getting a bit nippy! I even thought about putting my jacket on!.....well perhaps not...It was bloomin cold and even the fabric of my jacket was starting to crinkle!
Anyway - 1st November is my target date - only 27 days to go!I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Resisting the heating here in the house of Piglet, although I have to admit it has crossed my mind a couple of times...:p
At the moment, we are making do with extra clothes and cosy wraps and blankets when sitting still/watching the TV in the evening - although, in truth, I'm not 100% convinced that we'll make it all the way to November...
Still, one day at a time, eh?!:rotfl:

At the moment we are making do too. Extra clothes, snuggling under a duvet in front of the TV and hot waterbottles in the bed at night. The computer is in the coldest room in the house so I often sit with a hot water bottle on my lap and a duvet round my knees. I'm lovely and snug.Enjoying an MSE OS life0

You know its cold when you get in bed and jump straight back out because the bed sheet is like a block of ice.

We started putting the heating on in the morning earlier this week but it isn't on during the day yet (much
).
Also on during the evening for a while.
Penninewoman likes to be warm whereas I like to be cooler: she usually wins.
Temperature upstairs where I am now is just over 20 deg C and rises during the day to around 22 deg C.
Downstairs in our back room (the warmest room in the house) it is 23 deg C but will rise to around 26 deg C during the day when Penninewoman's in.
Lowest outdoor temp so far has been 6 deg C - so tropical really.
In addition to the central heating we have a stove in the back room which is on early a.m. and latish p.m. plus an open-chimney gas fire in the front room.
So it can be warm as toast when we need it to be in the cold, dark depths of January and February. :eek:Where now?0 -
was hoping to get through the weekend but mine went on 2 nights ago as my DD is not very well and her room is always the coldest in the house. Its on a timer to come on for an hour in the morning and I put it on manually on a night for a couple of hours. Daytime is still warm enough to get away with a fleece. Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0
