I've had my rads on today. A bit confused as to how they work as I've never had them before.
We don't have a thermostat for a whole house temp. Each rad has its own heat thingy numbered 1-5 (5 being hotest) so I turn each one to 2.5 today and the house has been fine. Not hot and not cold. But annoyingly I dont know what temp its atdo any of you know how the numbers on the rads corresspond to a temp??? Also, my towel rads in the bathrooms are HUGE and are not regulated and so are BOILING all day  so much so that it actually burns you to touch them! Does anyone know if I can get these fitted with controls?????
Also, can anyone tell me how the timer works?? I have a combi boiler with a circle timer with lots of tiny switches on it. Do I push them in for times when I want the heating on?? What are the red and blue bits for????WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
Addiscomber wrote:Just out of interest - how many of you have ever lived in a house without central heating? I am just wondering if those of us who can remember that don't feel the cold so early? I know that I am in the SE and that might make a difference, but I don't need a jumper during the day and I am not the most active of people - although I do go out and walk for half an hour first thing in the morning and that seems to keep me warm for a good part of the rest of the day.
I'm in a house with no central heating, and wish I wasn't.
Was ill last week so DH put the gas fire on for a couple of hours, but thats been it.
and how cold was it last night?? My feet and hands were like blocks of ice. How to wake up a snoring husband - touch his neck with freezing hands. hehehe, will remember that one for tonight!

I've got false economy 7.
Actually, I've no idea how cheap/expensive it will be.
I'm not a fan of high temperatures, so probably quite cheap.Happy chappy0 -
Just been and put mine on again! Really wanted it on today I was soooo cold but thought I better not get too used to it so went outside (in the cold) to do some work. When I came back in the house felt warm!0
