Serious, well that's the intention. I might cave in before then though. Right now it is starting to be a bit chilly so, I have extra layers on and I will have to put a hot water bottle in the bed, find where ever I put it from last winter

At what indoor temperature do people take the leap? Seems to me that there are some very tender plants amongst us! If I can see my breath indoors then that's probably a sign that the heating needs to go on for a few minutes but until then ...Debt Free Wannabe by 1 December 2027

I've woken up with a sore throat and cough today and so I just put it on for an hour when I got up. My husband went to the shop and said it was quite mild outside still. Having it on for an hour or two works at the moment.6

dp1 - Mr F got good news yesterday from the respiratory clinic - there is no fluid around his lung now. Diagnosis is that it was trauma that caused it - when he fell on the bus.

No heating here.
Had the window in the living room wide open earlier in the day, though I did put a jumper on. It was nice to have the air flow. Window is on latch most the time when not properly open. It is a little chilly but fine.
The 4.5 tog duvet went in the bed cover a few days ago, before then we just had the cover with nothing in it and some nights a light blanket was used on top if it was colder.
It is too warm for me with the duvet and I have to stick a leg out the covers to keep myself cool enough. However my OH is a lot happier with the duvet in use now so it's going to stay in use now.
Being that we have no idea what the heating costs for this place are like, as we recently moved in, we are going to try and keep the heating off for as long as we can.

I put mine on in just one room (albeit a large one) for all of 45 minutes this evening as my dad popped round. The smart meter shot up by £2 in that time so I switched it off the minute he left and am snug in multiple layers. How on earth are the elderly on low incomes going to manage?!No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.4
