Last winter I had all the night storage heaters on for one day and some of them on also for one day. Midday today it was 43 and I did use 30 mins of a fan heater (on 2 kw) which got that end of the room up to 48. Outside still below freezing and foggy - temperature matters a bit but it's the lack of sun that really hurts as it stops indoors warming up to a comfortable level which the insulation then helps to maintain.

I've had my heating set at 16 degrees all day, and turning it down to 13 degrees overnight for almost a week as its been below freezing outside. Today it has been -4 degrees outside, with freezing fog all day. Fortunately I have quite a bit of credit built up with my energy company. I wear a dressing gown over my clothes for extra warmth and also use a waffle throw when sitting on the couch as I feel the cold more when sitting still.

Sitting room fell to 8C this morning so decided to put the heating on for an hour to take the chill off - guess what?  Heating doesn't work.  Boiler fires up, little radiator picture comes on but absolutely no heat in the pipes or radiators.  Guess it'll be snuggling in the fleecy slanket til I can get someone out to look at it.
That's incredibly bad luck - hope it's soon fixed.

@elsien, there's a link, a few pages back, to an article which recommends raising your feet off the floor as it's a relatively cold area to be in contact with. My preferred solution is to put them on a hot water bottle, but a footstool or cushion probably does the trick.

I do have a computer foot rest thing, so you can massage and move your feet while at the desk and they are at the right height. It’s not helping in that respect.
Pernio can be bad luck but on occasion can be a secondary sign of other pathology. It may be worth having a NHS health check if you are over 40 and don't already have an underlying cardiovascular diagnosis.
