Still off in West Yorkshire...but pretty sure I'm only days away from giving in.
I tend to have a bath around 5pm then watch TV in bed.
Live alone so I can please myself4 -
I can't stand being cold, heating is on from 7am until 10pm and the logburner in the living room goes on at 5pm, nice and toasty. Our bills aren't huge, I think it's better to keep a house warm rather than firing the heating up for quick blasts and having to heat up from cold all the time.

I'm heating for an hour in the morning, just doubled evening to 3 hours (am not cold but not comfortable either), but lowered the temperature by 1 degree. Will see how that works out cost wise and how that suits my bedroom which is the very cold room of my home.5

Not on yet using a timer. It has been on for 1 hour twice when I had visitors. The thermostat show around 15 in my living room but when I’m wrapped up and under my furry blanket with curtains drawn and candles lit so far it’s been ok. I don’t like the bedroom warm to sleep, but have a 13 tog duvet. I do get cold extremities so if that happens the heat will be put on for an hour then.
Work has been terrible as the heaters were not working and even in 5 layers of clothing including 2 coats it was perishing.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.6 -
Dry day yesterday and again today, but it was cold last night! I visited my parents and we all have a habit of snuggling under individual fleeces whilst we watch TV / read / use tech. (Previously my habit was to drag my old duvet down to use on the sofa, which was somewhat unsightly!). My dad is in his eighties and is starting to feel the cold a lot more than he ever did before. The house was so warm it sent me straight to sleep, what a waste of an evening! I am not inspired to heat my own home regularly as yet though.
I pegged a couple of loads of washing out before 8am, mindful that there will be all of 8 hours of daylight (and hopefully the sun stays out) before it needs to come in. If its still damp I'll get the Dri-Buddi out to finish them off but having seen even the heavy denim dance around in the breeze I am hopeful not to have to.
If it gets cold this evening I am going to use the oven for a short time - freezer needs running down - and then leave it open.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I read about a technique that hotels apparently use to retain heat in their beds this evening: triple sheeting. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Heating OFF and only been on once since September. Edwardian house, so not terribly well insulated either. Weather has been mild, haven't had any frost.5

I turn mine on for an hour in the morning so I can have a warm bathroom for my shower. the rest of the day I manage with my electric throw and an extra wooly . Its really not that cold in my house, as I am mid-terrace, and insulated back and front with a conservatory at the back as wellwhich had a radiator in it.I also have double insulation in the loft. I shut the curtains when it gets dark, and keep all the doors shut as well to keep the heat in
.Having not long come out of hospital I make sure my sitting room is warm and I have a card thermometer in there that tells me what the temperature is. Its reading 21c at the moment yet my heating has not been on since 7.00 this morning. My electric throw is brilliant and has a timer on it so I usually if I'm watching tv set it for an hour so I'm fairly warm. I do have the problem as my mobility is affected by the cold and damp so I tend to pay extra during the summer to build up a good credit on my energy for the December,January February months. I grew up during the 1940s50s with no central heating or double glazing and in a very old edwardien draughty house. I certainly would never scrimp on heating though as if I get too cold my joints just won't work Hot drinks every half an hour or so and definitely a big bowl of hot porridge in the morning keeps me warm inside as well
