Next month I am meeting up with someone I haven't seen in decades and I have heard he believes in using cold for health reasons. He has cold showers and apparently never gets ill even though he works in the NHS as a paramedic. I'm going to ask him about it!
I have my heating on at the moment as I am trying to dry the rest of my laundry as I wanted to wash our bed covers today and I didn't want to have washing hanging everywhere. I'm keeping an eye on it and think the washing should be dry on the radiators after about an hour and then I will switch it off. My thermometer said it was just under 18 today, but it feels chilly as it is raining. I'm about to wash my hair in the shower and I can't stand having wet hair and feeling cold.

What I have found it that lycra sports clothes such as cycling vest make a good base layer. Under normal clothes I feel quite snug and warm albeit a little like the Michelin woman once I am fully layered up.

So much to read, so little time.5 -
I am absolutely freezing here, although the weather app tells me 11° (feels like 9)
Hoping I can hold out on the heating for another couple weeks, however it is definitely getting colder in the evenings/mornings.
I've got my youngest running around in shorts and t-shirt so it must just be me 😂
Hoping to change energy providers this month ( I need to chase that up) I'll feel a bit better about having the heating on then.January 2025 GC 🥕 £144.61 / £400

I've woken up feeling chilly today so the heating is on for two hours.
I think it is because it has been so mild so any colder weather will be a shock to my system.2025 GOALS

My heating is on at 20, (21 if I'm not warm enough) all day 15 when I'm in bed, thank goodness i am in a well insulated 1 bed flat

My heating is on at 18 as soon as I get up - if I feel cold it goes up to 19 but stays on all day until I go to bed when I turn it down to 15. Looked at my account today and we are £520 in credit - I can't stand being cold. I am paying £75 a month on gas.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I have built up a good credit for this very reason and I don't expect to go into debit3 -
I have had the heating on again for two hours this evening as well. I realised I feel chilly because I have had industrial dehumidifiers in my house for about a month and they were taken away yesterday. They really did throw out a lot of heat which I sadly miss.
I think I will start putting my own dehumidifier (not industrial sized!) in the room to dry my laundry on the rack. I read that tip on this forum.2025 GOALS
