I tested the heating last Sunday night. It has been really rainy here in Essex the past few days, but today is bright and sunny, blue sky, but with a chill in the air. The sun is streaming in on my arms through the window which feels lovely. I am hoping to dry my laundry outside today.5

It's on.
Only about 3-4 hours spread out over the day (morning and evening with a boost midday) but needs must.
We got our latest statement yesterday for the period 20 Sep to 19 Oct and it came to just over £114 with £52 of that being for standing charges and VAT.Although we've used more or less the same number of units as this time last year, it's not cost as much - last year it was £155 and that was after the EPG reduction; otherwise it would have been £180.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.5 -
Ours is on from when we get up until bedtime - can't be cold.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I haven’t had the heating on much at all so far, but I’ve had young dgd stay the last couple of days so put it on for a bit. I’m a bit obsessed with reading the smart meter for how much it’s costing me as I only receive a state pension and I was surprised how much my daily amount went up, way more than I want to spend at this time of year., so now she’s gone home its back to blankets etc for this month then I’ll be looking out an old sleeping bag for the really cold weather so I can have the heating on lowish! I hate being cold but I have to be sensible and there’s only me so I don’t care if I’m snuggling in a sleeping bag in the really cold weather as long as there’s some warmth in the house to keep the damp at bay.£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund6

Temperature in the house has been dropping to 16c so heating has been in use, yes it costs money but I'm not sitting here miserable and cold4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.6

Heating still off, aiming for November before it goes on, only a couple days to go. We do have a dehumidifier to dry the laundry and items may get a 10min blast in the dryer to finish off before putting away as no airing cupboard.

Definitely on for an hour at a time if it turns too chilly.I've just come home from a stay in hospital and I need to keep warm to keep my joints working. But as I've been in there for 5 weeks my credit is quite high with the company so I'm not too bothered about a bill just yet thank goodness.
But I only put it on if I'm feeling chilly, and as I have an electric throw that helps when I'm sitting knitting to keep me warm and toasty without costing too much thank goodness to run

I've been putting mine on for about an hour first thing in the morning and an hour in the evening for now.4

Not yet. So far its only been down to about 16C in my house and Im ok with that, havent even dug my Oodie out yet. Only other concessions are the storage heater in the bathroom had to go on (or else the towels will just be permanently damp) and Im using my dehumidifier for drying the laundry.
I find that once I start switching it on then I lose my head and want it on all the time! Whereas Im not missing it at the moment.6 -
On pretty much most of the day now. Have a deteriorating neurone related problem so can't move around now to exercise and keep my circulation going. My thermal vests came out of the drawer this morning and will no doubt now see constant use.6
