Is your heating ON or OFF?

Worth turning on for an hour or two just to check alls working. Other than that I’m trying to hold out for Nov 1st or the clocks changing as usual! (But South Coast….).In reality 1 October would be sensible, although it’s warmer than normal at the moment.3

@On-the-coast we will do a test hour next month, but October's job list includes putting the brush down them and clearing the dust, as well as bleeding them. Then they'll get a test. Apart from that it's still way too warm. Mr Flamingo says November for proper use, but I prefer December. It can go on when the Dec's go up!Married 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

I usually keep the heating off until October half term minimum. We do live in a cottage that was partially built in the 1700s, added onto in the 1800s and had another extension built in the 1900s so it’s insulation isn’t the best though and along side it’s single glazed sash windows it means it can get quite cold. We’ve added a covered pergola off the kitchen which has been brilliant this year for drying clothes outside in all weathers. I’ve only had to use the tumble dryer a handful of times in an emergency.3

It is very mild here. I am wearing a summer dress and sandals. We are still sleeping with our windows open too.
I did have to put on socks and get a blanket a few times in the evening in the past two weeks, but the heating is definitely off.4 -

No heating on yet, but wearing extra layers and beginning to feel too cold, so will probably go on in the next few days.3

I don't think it's about being 'hard' - I'm not one who takes pleasure in being miserable - but every house is different and depending on where you are in the country there can really be a month or two difference in when the heating 'needs' to go on.
Here (manweb area) there were a couple of chilly evenings in September when I thought about clicking it on, but it was fairly late in the day by that point so I wrapped up with a hot chocolate and distracted myself with a movie. The days are still fairly mild (17/18 degrees this week). I've only just gotten the winter duvet out and once I'm actually curled up in bed there's been several nights where I've been too hot.
I need to 'test' everything is still working at some point, but I can't see having the heating 'on' permanently for at least a few more weeks - probably/hopefully only an odd day in October. I've also got my heated throw and an electric blanket for the bed, so if the days are warm then the boiler might stay off until November.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.6 -
Mine went on for a couple of evenings in Julyand August when we had the unseasonably cold weather.
It's been off since late August but we've just put it on this evening.
It's currently 23.8C in here and I'm wearing my camisole, shirt and a cardigan and my bones are still feeling chilly.
Maybe I should get my thyroid checked 🤔
