Is your heating ON or OFF?

I'm still needing mine on twice a day, but I've put the boiler flow temperature down by 5 degrees.
Going to reduce the time it's on this week and see how it goes.
Come April, I'm stopping the automatic timer and putting it on as needed.2 -
I am still having mine on a couple of hours at a time to dry the laundry on the radiators. I have tried the washing line a few times, but it didn't dry at all even after a few hours and then it started drizzling/raining so I had to bring it inside. My garden is north facing and it doesn't get much sun even when it is warm.
It is so much nicer now I'm not experiencing that horrible cold weather, though and it is nice to have the windows open more.:)2 -
@YoungBlueEyes I wish I had a neighbour like yours. All their excess heat is helping to keep your house warm. Years ago I lived in a flat above an elderly lady who had her heating on really high all day and I hardly had to put mine on. When I knocked to see if she needed any shopping the heat hit you like a wall when she opened the doorl. I still have my heating on at 16 on the thermostat but it is not kicking in as often. Its been really damp and drizzly here so no chance of getting washing dry outdoors.2

I had to switch mine on last night, the thermometer said one thing and my body another completely.
This afternoon has been lovely - the sun is in and out and I am loving being bathed in sunshine. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -
We have central heating on at 7°C at night and a comfortable 14°C during the day still, but it switches off when the sun shines in. We are still wearing lots of layers of clothes, and I have my warm blanket to snuggle under to sit and read. The forecast for the outdoor temperatures are a bit warmer, 10-15°C, but cold still at night, down to 1°C again at the weekend.
The wind was cold when we were out this afternoon, which was tiring, so I have a hot water bottle this evening.

It has been off all day as the sun shone in and put the temperature above the thermostat setting. I like Spring.
It is almost time to shut all the curtains to keep that heat in.4 -
I've reduced the time by 50 mins per day- apart from the two upcoming below freezing nights next week when I have extended the timer.
Really do think come April I will turn the auto timer off and use it manually when needed.4 -
Off, off, off!I felt a turning point was reached yesterday, but also very sunny and I was bathed in delicious warmth all day! My south facing rooms retained the heat overnight and comfort has been restored without resorting to the thermostat..No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.4 -
Off... and has been since the last week of January. The house is insulated, I'm insulated (thermals & layers) so I can happily confine central heating to just extended cold snaps when my main living area would otherwise fall bellow 11-12C.
I've followed a similar routine for the past 8 years now and wouldn't be doing it if it were greatly inconvenient, uncomfortable or it threatened the fabric of the building.
Last month's dual fuel bill on Octopus SVT was just £34.62 (£21 of that down to standing charges.)
Currently 16 C in my living room from this morning's burst of spring sunshine - so that's me done with space heating until next November at the earliest.

It's been off more than on in March but I had it on yesterday as felt so cold (and had layers). My general rule of thumb is off 'properly' by end of March.Aim:12mth Emergency Fund -> £14264/£17076 (83%) Aim 2: Mortgage Overpayment -> Paused until other aim fulfilled.5
