Is your heating ON or OFF?

Just a few degrees warmer this morning, and what a difference! We have to layer our clothes as my dear wife likes fresh air through the house in the morning, and the back door wide open so the dog and two cats can come and go! Most important. So our ‘heating ‘ will go on about 3 pm. I’ll light the stove! 😃 We are very basic here. Even her elderly mother said it’s like the 1970’s in our house!5

My heating is on as I am colouring my roots and I can't stand being cold after I wash my hair!
I felt so cold and shivery yesterday, I had the heating on for a few hours, but it struggled to get up to 17 in my living room. I put on another jumper, used a fleecy throw and had a hot water bottle and it warmed me up a bit.5 -

I am just about to light our multifuel stove. For the last hour the dog and me have sat reading, well I have, 😃 and I have one of those electric ‘throws’. What a good piece of kit! Only had it a week and I am rather impressed.5

My quartely bill for G&E ended up at £394, so I was a little out on my previous estimate.
So £193 to pay after the EBSS, and I also got two £25 Cold Weather Payments that went into the pot.
It's given me an idea of how much I will need to save up for future winter bills when there is no EBSS or CoL payments.

On the plus side, my bill for January was a very reasonable £210 (gas and electricity).
(That was sarcastic btw, I've reduced my usage by a third and the price is double what it was last year.)3 -
@darrensurrey I know what you mean about price increases.I've cut down my usage as much as I can but it's still worrying.I used to pay my bill quarterly but prefer to have a monthly bill now so I can keep my eye on it.
I was on a fix last year and was paying £69 a month direct debit on which I managed to build up a £225 credit. This year I am paying £100 per month direct debit and even with the government £66 a month I've had to send a couple of 1 off payments so I dont go into debit.
Have you thought about a fingerless glove on the hand that uses the mouse it might help.

Had to top up the pressure in my boiler again on Sunday. It was only 23rd of Jan when I last did it but my boiler was due for its annual service on Monday so I thought I would mention it.
Well it got cancelled on Monday but they came this morning and I had a very tiny leak in my boiler @plumb1_2 so you were right.I had already checked my radiators to make sure none of them were leaking.
The man from British gas said it only needed a very small leak to cause the pressure to drop so glad it's all sorted now.. He did say they could move the pipes where you add extra water to above my worktop rather than in the cupboard under the worktop as it is difficult to get to but the landlord would have to pay for it. I won't bother asking as it doesn't need topping up very often.0
