I've heating on now because I was out and about all day and was frozen stiff. Will be working until late the next couple of evenings, so I'm staying toasty now.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

olliebeak, sk went on holiday I think in a caravan
Oh heck - poor girl. We were in a caravan for 2 weeks back in September and it was getting decidedly chilly in the mornings and evenings even then. Heaven help them at the moment. Hope they have good duvets/sleeping bags in there.
:j :j :j - Sammy_Kaye, OH and Ben keeping warm.

No you're certainly not the only one lindseykim..although I did come in a few minutes ago and look at the thermometer, 14c, and adjust the time clock ready for Saturday. I'm sitting here in my wee spare bedroom in my jimmies with a tee shirt (and me knickers) underneath, dressing down
as my DD used to call it when she was little, slipper sox, slippers and a big woolly scarf! Quite cosy in fact, but I've been at DD's all day and evening and got thoroughly thawed out in the heat of her house so I'm going to bed soon while I'm still warm.
I love the idea of the hairdryer ceridwen, I'll do that tonight. I have a duvet under the bottom sheet and always have a throw and my thick dressing gown on the bed, so with the hair-dryer heated sheets it should be deliciously warm!0 -
Quite pleased with myself today. When the room temperature where the thermometer is hit 20c, I turned the heating off - which was at about 12:30. So had the heating on for four hours today.
From then on, it was a couple of layers. In the evening, at about 8pm, made a hotwater bottle, hot orange and watched a film - just leeching off the last bit off heat from the bottle.Room temperature is 18.9c and outside is 1.3c, so not all that bad really.
Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
Yesterday I "caved in" & finally put the central heating on for a couple of hours in the evening. It was really cold & so was the house. We've done a lot better than usual. Like a previous poster said, it's not worth getting poorly forNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0

We have'nt had snow, though it's frosty this morning.Last night though was perishing. We went to bed at around 10 with our hot water bottles.
Like you we're determined to hold out, then try and limit our usage. We're just terrified we'll end up with loads of debt so we'll have to be careful.
It does help though knowing there's like minded people out there who are having to do the same.
To be honest there must be some people who won't be able to afford putting the heating on at all,so we're not that badly done to.0 -
Personally I think an electric blanket is one of the cheapest and best ways to stay cosy. You cna go to bed early with a good book.pile of sweeties/jam sandwich/knitting. Wrap dressing gown round your top half and have a flask of tea beside you. I can't do without mine, a hotwater bottle isnt the same. It's like you're creating your own mini climate zone0
