Is your heating ON or OFF?

ceridwen - I just seem to be really sensitive to changes in temperature at work. My boss has one of those little gadgets on his desk that is a clock, a calendar, a thermometer... and if I say "is it cold in here or is it just me" you can guarantee that it's slipped below 22. Anything above 25 and I'm too hot

Hi Bargain Rzl
I have come to the conclusion re the "being able to manage with lower temperature at home than at work" conundrum....that its not down to the fact that I am the one paying for it at home. I honestly think there is some sorta inverse ratio of the happier one is the lower the temperature can comfortably be. My spirits always plunge the second my workplace comes into site each day and rise again the second I've walked out of it each night. Throughout the day at work I've noticed my temperature plunges up and down according to just how "uncomfortable" I personally am feeling at being at work.
I guess when one feels uncomfortable personally then you look for a bit of physical warmth to redress the balance. My workplace feels like a seriously uncomfortable place to be - hence the temperature difference of 6C that I require when I am there.0 -
had the heating on for the last two weeks - however been very good at unplugging tv, dvd player, cable box etc - no standby costs - started taking own lunches to work0

need someone else to tell me that i'm not the only one who hasn't put the heating on! i'm freezing with gloves on at the comp lol
Am i mad trying to hold out? mind you in debt so saving money on it isn't too mad is it?
Is anyone else cold here tonight like me?0 -
pretty cold here too, got my layers on, wrapped in a blanket with a hot water bottle and coffee, and yes i have my gloves on too! Been discussing it with flat mate...we are holding out till the first - just to see roughly how much money we have built in our dd and then roughly how often we can have the heating on for each day and when. Id like it on the evenings, hed like it on in the mornings

As I've succumbed to putting the heating on, I'm only reading this thread now. However, I've noticed that one of our posters is conspicuous by her absence.
Has anybody heard from Sammy_Kaye recently? Wonder how she's doing in the depths of the Welsh valleys? The temperature there was forecast at -2/-3 for last night and it made me think of her.
You OK Sammy?0 -

Up here in northern Scotland, I've had the heating on ages! The first night I shivered under my duvet with my pjs on, a jumper, normal socks, slipper sox, my dressing gown was enough to make me decide my savings aren't going to come from my heating bills. I would have got up to switch it on, but couldn't face the cold of getting out of bed. The nxt night onwards, I put the heating on. Must have been (very) late September. I try to tell myself I'm saving money when I go to my folk's place (and so don't need to pay for heating here), but since that costs approx £15 return in petrol, it probably doesn't. (mind you I get unlimited food there, and bring some back)0
