No heating on here yet but we are south facing and when the sun shines indoors it is lovely and warms all the rooms at the back of the house. Today has been lovely outside with the sun in the garden but it is a little bit chilly.

It's on for about an hour in the evening - turn on/off manually as and when needed - and on the timer for mornings for 40 mins. We forgot the timer last night and we certainly noticed the difference this morning, the thermometer was showing less than 14C! Like others have mentioned, I sometimes find it's warmer outside than in.Be kind to others and to yourself too.6

It's a bit foggy this morning - Autumn is definitely here!I have kept toasty in the evenings through a combination of thick clothing, 2 bathrobes and 2 thick blankets. This far it's worked. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
Makingabobor2 said:Wednesday2000 said:I was reading yesterday afternoon and feeling very chilly so I went to get one of my warm cardigans. I went out for a walk and it was quite sunny and reasonably warm outside! I think I just get chilled in my house as it is old and I have to make sure I don't sit around for too long.
I have switched to thermal leggings in bed now and it is much better than my old PJ bottoms. I think I will get rid of them as they are quite old and tatty anyway.
I did buy a pedal machine as they are supposed to be good for getting the blood flowing if you have any type of mobility problems, or even if you don't obviously. It does seem to get my heart rate up according to my Fitibit so I am doing that for at least 30 mins a day. It does warm me up.
My heating is still off but I am keeping an eye on the thermometer which is still 16-18 during the day. My dog was shivering in the night so I have put her in one of her winter coats and she was fine last night. She feels the cold generally so I usually have to do this when the weather turns chilly. The other dog I used to have was fine in the cold and he used to even like the snow. He was a long haired chihuahua.:)4 -
Very misty and foggy this morning. I had such a lovely cup of Yorkshire tea when I woke up. I drink so many hot drinks in the colder weather. I did mean to look for a thermos flask to stop me boiling the kettle so much.
I am going to batch cook some coconut red lentil soup today. Heating is still off!2025 GOALS

Very rainy and windy this afternoon but I haven't given in just yet I just got an extra throw out, and another thicker cardi.
Trying to keep it off as long as I can .Not too cold in the sitting room though and keeping the doors shut and closing the curtains earlier helps I think

On. Back from holiday today, house was 14 degrees. Layers and blankets weren’t going to cut it for me today. It’ll stay on now. The thermostat doesn’t have a timer so I use the thermostat temperature and the TRV is in each room to control what heat I want where and when. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.4 -
Our gas central heating's currently programmed to come on for 30 mins in the morning to keep it at around 18 degrees and again between 6pm and 10.30pm for 19 degrees. It's been on briefly once or twice in the last few days but we may have to tweak the settings soon to lower the cost.
Gonna to see how it goes.
