    My heating is now on.

I've tested it out before but this is the first time in my life I have ever lived in a house with central heating (it was installed in August) so its been fun!
I've spent the evening exercising instead - internal CH system has kicked in.

I'm impressed that you have managed to get this far through winter without any form of heating in the house. I usually start with a gas fire on occasionally and then graduate to central heating in a limited number of rooms. But no heat at, what's your secret.

Mine's been off since beginning of March
  • Mine since the New Year having been shocked by December's fuel bill. It's come down but it's stil higher than I would like to spend.

Definitely off. Haven't used it for weeks. Scared of the cost.

Our heating has been off for about a month now.  We are south facing so get quite a bit of daytime heat coming in the back of the house especially as we have lots of windows on that side which always helps.  Haven't used the wood-burning stove either.

We don't have central heating - the storage heaters have died and we are currently saving/deciding what sort of heating we will replace them with. We use panel heaters upstairs as we need them (not that often and not for very long). We have all adapted to living in a colder house, we wear layers, use blankets, air the house (to help with potential damp), sometimes use the dehumidifier (mostly to help dry clothes as we often cannot line dry due to weather). We live in the Northern Isles, so it's really not warm a lot of the time!

Fortunately my partner and I are both in full-time employment, but we're saving as much spare cash as we can for when our tariffs end in July and the subsequent SVR shock to the system!

As a consequence the CH has been ticking over for an hour of a morning for most of April, and that's about it. We're definitely cutting back on using the electric too excessively as want to stay in credit with our DDs and actual energy usage when our supplier offers us a new fixed tariff just prior to the expected October price cap rise.
