Off.
I am noticing condensation on the windows in the early morning and evening. It must be a weather thing as I open the windows daily. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Off, but it feels like the absolute coldest day so far........January GC: £64.81/£80.00
February GC: £24.60£80.000 -
it was a bit nippy when I got up so it went on while I showered but off now as the upstairs windows are open for the decorator again. Going out shortly, hopefully it will feel warm when I come in from the cold so may not put it on again today.0

Seems almost like a competition to see who can leave it off for the longest :P
If I need heating on I'll put it on especially if I'm getting drenched at work.:female: INFP :female:0 -

I'm proud to say that it is a competition I have done very well in in past years. Last year, I hung on until the end of November. My wife, however, has been less than impressed with my achievements so our heating is on early this year.

I picked a couple of aubergines from my garden at the weekend, and I've still got some small capiscums and hot peppers on the plants.
No central heating yet but (a very big BUT) I have been practising with my new wood burner..Joinery off-cuts and pallet wood takes the chill off the room, and once you've got those lovely embers it seems a shame not to lob on a few more bigger bits of free wood..
I've only had the gas hot water on twice since March as well, benefiting from the solar panels, so on course for nice low energy bills this year.0 -
ON! - well, on the timer and thermostat.
My thermostat is set to 18deg and timer for half an hour on a morning, and a couple of hours on an evening. I've not held out but really through October it's not flicked itself on much. But it was on with a vengeance this morning! My windows were a bit steamed upstairs and when I opened them I could hear car windscreens having the ice scraped off them
The walk to school was with hats and mitts this morning!
I'm working from home in my converted garage, which has patio doors facing the morning sun, so it's warmed up no end in here. With the sun and my hot water bottle I feel quite toasty and not needing my little halogen heater under my desk.
Forecast for Yorkshire tomorrow night is down to 2-3deg! Brr!Bossymoo

I cracked last night and put it on for an hour. It was a chilly, damp evening and I was really tired and just couldn't resist it any longer.
I'm going to be strong tonight though and make a hot water bottle as soon as I get home from work to fend off the chills before they get to me.0 -
