Still off here as well but definitely much colder today. Hoping not to put it on yet and save a few more pennies! Suspect that DH will want to light the log fire this evening when he gets in - don't know why he feels the cold so much as he works outside so should be more used to it than me!

It's off but I feel quite chilly and shivery today so today might be the day it goes on.

I'm having some lemon and ginger tea and putting on my slipper boots while I make my decision.:D

  • Still off here (I'm in South-East Essex) feeling chillier today than it has been though.

We've got an open fire and none of my paper/card goes in the recycling bin - we stuff it in the grate and when it's slightly/temporarily chilly (like those 'middle-of-the-day' temperature drops) we set light to it - only burns for 5 minutes or so, then glowing embers for another 15/20, but it's enough to take the chill off so that we're not tempted to put the heating on :)

It's much cooler here today, I have a decorator doing the upstairs so all the windows are open otherwise I might have been tempted to turn the ch on. I probably will this evening when he's finished though, I don't do cold!

Off here but it is feeling a lot colder today and even my work has put the heating on. Going to light tea lights and candles in the living room and hope that warms it up a bit before DH gets home as he is the first to want the heating on. Will warm up DS bed with a hot water bottle.

now this is more like it - the only thing breaking up the low hanging oppressive ceiling of grey cloud is the sort of rain that looks like it's settling in for months. 16 degrees in the middle of the day. a normal british november.

I am determined not to put heating on in the evenings until there's been a frost but it will be going on in the morning tomorrow.

Candles are on - which makes it smell warm in the house and fools me into thinking it is warmer (It's not actually any warmer according to the thermometer about 1 ft away from a candle)

Today I have picked up new kagouls

Don't know where you are but 16C is not a normal British November that's very mild.

Heating not on yet as still mild but gets chilly in the evening so won't be long.

Heating still off but I got absolutely drenched walking to get my son today (being cheap avoiding the bus spend) & I felt chilled through. Have to go out again at 7pm for a PTA meeting & am so not looking forward to it. My shoes are still soaked. This is the closest I have come yet to cracking. ..
