Our heating is still off, but I gave it a couple of hours on Thursday when I was baking bread.
The inside temperature of the house has rarely failed to dip below 18.5C yet.

I saw a field of oilseed rape in flower yesterday, no bees now of course, so I expect that will all be ploughed in.

I still have bees dropping into my garden for a feed. I picked some more tomatillos today. Tomatillos are natives to Mexico.

Heating still off. Some people are still walking around the shops in T shirts.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

  • Ive also got bees and butterflies in the garden after some nectar rich flowers, like most of you say the indoor temps are still around 18 to 20 degrees, which is what I have now, but weve now lost the sunshine and its starting to rain , perhaps this is the last weekend before the weather is going to turn cold.......

  • Mine is going on tonight. It's storage heating, so needs a day to settle down and the forecast is looking very chilly from tomorrow evening onward.

    Going on low, though.

I had the oven on late afternoon, that made me so hot I had to take my light jumper off.

I have a electric saving plan ;) I cook a cake in the oven at the same time I use the oven for dinner. i baked an apple & ciniman cake at the same time as roast veg. Then heated a pie up.

When finnished I leave the oven door ajar to send the heat out into the house.
The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)

My geraniums, petunias and impatiens are still in full flower, there's blossom on the apple tree (!) and there was a bumble bee on the pear tree this morning. Even though it's been drizzling off and on most of the day it's still too warm for cardigans, socks and closed windows. I'm enjoying it while it lasts, trying not to project about the coming weeks...

Off, this means we met and surpassed our target of 1st November.

I have also seen bees going into my fuchsia flowers, and a couple of tiny squashes are still growing on the plant.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Happily still off. I've got a clematis still full of flowers in my garden & had a wasp through my open bedroom window this morning!

Keep having to remind myself it's November :D
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)

Still off here, although I noticed that "mid afternoon dip in temperature" yesterday, but it passed.

I got chased by a wasp last week at Alton Towers - they have no business bothering people in Autumn!!!!!
