sounds normal to me lol. mines is about 17 from when we go to bed until morning when i often crank it up a bit then if going out turn it back down to 17 then from 3ish its back up.That's just nice for me, I hate the cold. I'm quite positive I'm a reptile really.
:rotfl: :rotfl: I guess everyone is just used too different temperatures. I rarely have mine above 19, and that feels very warm to me. I have turned my sisters down to 19 while we are here, so that i dont acclimatise to 21!0 -

I'm quite toasty at 16C, it's 14C in the living room just now and that feels quite comfortable.
I am going to struggle when I got to my sister's for Christmas as it feels like some kind of sauna every time I visit, not sure what the temperature is there, but I'll have a shirt on rather than a jumper and maybe take a spare pare of shorts!0 -
Always got my heating times to come on at 6 am, turn it off or later as the day wears on , but def come tea time and we go into sitting room and have the open fire lit until bedtime , sooo cosy, id rather watch the fire than the tv.......0

Still off atm, in a mid floor flat, so isn't too bad. Out of the house from 7.30-4 ish Mon to fri. We use blankets, and fleecy pj's to keep us warm.
Has anyone used the radiator foil?? I am thinking of getting some, also the window film insulation? I am going to make some draught excluders. I've already made some hand warmers. The timer on my boiler is broken
, so as soon as I put the heating on, it'll prob stay on...

I've had to put the CH on this morning just for a bit, although according to BBC it's 9C outside, the temperature inside is barely above 12C, I can't quite work out the relationship between the outside and inside temperature as it's been way colder outside but warmer than that inside... Will get it up to a toasty 14 or 15C then switch off lol!0

Living room is 17C with the stove ticking over, nice and warn with a fleece on and a blanket over my legs and feet. The rest of the house is 10C. Not looking forward to the coming cold snap from Thursday onwards0

Last year I had the heating on loads but that was to dry clothes as much as heat the house. In fact some days we were sat sweltering but I had to keep the radiators just to get clothes dry. The gas bill was NOT pretty!
This year I have bought a super duper energy efficient tumble dryer which has made no noticeable difference in electric useage at all.
So I have now set the heating to timer and it comes on
MON-FRI - 7-8.30, 2.50-3.45, 8.30-10.
SAT & SUN - 7-9, 12-2, 8.30-10.
So far it seems to be working out about perfect and on the odd occasion I have flicked it off early (usually the midday timing) as it hasn't been particularly cold etc.. I started off putting it on at about 6pm but was finding that the house warmed up enough with the cooker/oven on and we were all warmed up through eating that it didn't need to go on until a bit later.
I am hoping doing this will generate a cheaper gas bill this year.

I have just got home from my sisters and my house was 12 degrees! So the heating is definitely ON!0

Mine wasn't on at all yesterday, and hasn't been on yet today.
It's been a sunny weekend here, and because my flat is mostly south-facing it tends to catch the heat from the sun quite well. It's on cloudy days that I really need the heating on.Because it's fun to have money!

A dull depressing day here in Wiltshire.Heating has been off all day,I'm wrapped up with two dressing gowns which is keeping me warm.
Oh is away for a few days so intend keeping it off,I think he may be sneaking it on when I'm out:eek:.This is a worry for me I'm the one that makes the money go round, which is not easy when are income has dropped after redundancy.More nagging is in orderto remind him it's better to be cold inside rather than lose our home and be on the streets.
